I think that Sepheroth would win because he has the skills and the sword.

I would totally pick Sabin for this one. If anyone manages to dodge his bum rush, they won't survive the epileptic siezure afterward.

I think Cloud comes out on top here, I think the Senate should be doing a hearing about all these "sources" he's allegedly "not" using.

Since Kefka would probably get a cramp out of laughing, my vote goes for Reis.
Even if she has no skills by fighting with her fists unlike Sabin, she's definitely stronger than him. ![]() -------------------- Sayonara |

Ramza. You canpump him up to god-like proportions in the game. You can pump up other lead roles in FF games as well, but due to the levelup-leveldown availability in FFT, Ramza has a chance to become a demi-god. That trumps any other FF character that I know of.

Yes, Mr. Rogers dies, but then the final fantasy crew come to kick some butt.

Quote (Narratorway @ 22nd February 2006 12:06) Man, don't you know already? It's Mr. Rogers in a bloodstained sweater. The test-tube puppy that I am I voted Kuja before I double-checked the question which says "melee-type" fight, so he'd get his clocked cleaned by just about anybody out there becuase his whole arsenal is magical prowess. Zidane could easily be the underdog story to win here, and still make it believable. I'll show off the FFVIII "fanboyism" in me and go with Squall for his strength, speed, and power-ups by Strength Ups and GF junctioning combined with the Lionheart gunblade Limit Break. I vote for Squall Leonhart, though Ramza Beoulve is my favorite.

This IS indeed the ultimate showdown... man I remember in school when we'd all hang about talking about 'who would win' in a totally unprovoked battle with no reason in sight. God bless Lemon Demon for reminding me of my youth. ;-;
Aaaanyway, lets see... I won't pick a villain based on the fact you HAVE beaten them, so clearly they won't win. =P Sticking to your list, I'm ganna put it between Cloud, Cecil, and Ramza as all three are trained soldiers with oh-so spikey blond hair. Ramza would prolly be the best strategist picking at weak points, Cecil is clearly the most disciplined, and Cloud'd just go totally phycho with his Limit Breaks. But then I think Alma, Rosa, and Tifa would turn up and be like "what the HELL are you boys doing!?" and drag them home by their ears. While Zidane is a very cool dude, I don't see any point on him being on the list. I can't see him winning.
I vote for Sephiroth. He kills people left right and centre with ease. -------------------- 'Let that be a lesson to all oppressive vegetable sellers.' |

But hasn't Sephiroth been killed by Cloud one-on-one like a BIZILLION times?
Even in Advent Children. Man, I almost feel sorry for him. Cloud just kinda flicks him now and he flies out the window... -------------------- The Arcana are the means by which ALL is revealed. |

A melee battle? Tch. Try FFIIIj's Onion Knight with a full set of armor. He'd anhiliate anything you threw at him.

Yeah, but don't forget that Ramza can have two entire job classes worth of skills at his command, too. I'm thinking Draw Out and Guts.

At the very end, it would come down to Orlandu, Beatrix, Kain, and Esper Terra in a four-way cage match.
Orlandu is pure versatility - SO many ways to deal massive damage and Night Sword for healing. No one's touching him with an FFT Excalibur, a Robe of Lords, and a Gold Escutcheon. He also gets props by having some fully customizable ability slots for variety. Beatrix has a full complement of healing magic (including Holy, if I'm not mistaken), some devastating sword skills, and some extra mystique by being a badass recurring boss. Plus, she's got the hotness, and to my knowledge both Orlandu and Kain are potentially distractable bachelors. Kain has a broken Hero Shield and Abel Lance, plus can avoid some conflict with jump. I guess the reason I Kain in is because the only FF I have played within the past four or five months is IV-Advance, and the game's shiny new kickass equipment has really given the FF IV cast some more esteem in my eyes. Esper Terra is a no-brainer. You take a character with some of the best stats and equipment selection in the game, and then you massively boost all of the stats in a monstrous transformation? I'm thinking Atma Weapon, Paladin Shield, Economizer, Gem Box, and a dash of ownage. -------------------- |
