..I did not know about that passage.
I'm going to try it now.

PS, if you can't find something, and have ZSNES as an emulator, try pressing buttons 1-5 above the keyboard. wink.gif

1 removes layer BG1, which is used for about half the map, and the entirety of the overworld map. 2 removes layer BG2, which is used for the background in most places. 3 removes what I like to call "clouds", which is basically any clouds, fog, rain, text, or some spells. The only place I found where BG4 was used is the X menu. It removes the right side with "Item, Skills," and so forth. 5 removes Sprites. Don't worry. Just press the button again to reverse it. Kthx!

That ability is quite useful. I've used it just to mess around, on numerous occassions.

Was there a point to that?

I figured out the clock puzzle the hard way. I talked to everyone, kept track of what they said, and figured out what was left. I don't think I had the internet back when I first played FF6. If I did, I hadn't yet heard of gamefaqs or even the FF6 AOL MB, or I surely would have cheated and looked it up.

I can never remember the time exactly when I play through these days, so if I can't get it after a few guesses, I cheat. And I actually used the CoN for that last time.

Once by using a strategy guide, once by figuring it out on my own... I forgot the combo a second time around and lost the strategy guide. -_^

Yep same here. Except the second time around I just didn't look for the guide since I wanted to give it a shot on my own. Kinda fun.

I don't think so... tha is as secret as the old-crazy man is gau's father... Ah! both things would be "secret" if you don't pay atention to what the people of Jiidor says: Never trust 'em

I remembered the time from way back in the day, but I didn't even bother to get it this playthrough. The instant kill annoys me and I prefer the drill anyways.

When i first played FFVI i was done with walkthroughs and guides. So I figured out the time like the programmers intended, talk to everyone, and use process of elimination.
I remember the first timi I got the chainsaw, what a thing of beaty it was.

I remember that I cracked the clock on my first try. I looked at my in-game timer and it coincidently was to correct time to set it to. I did have to take a guess at what the "seconds" was though.
