         Click and explain. Easy, no?

      1) You were and will always be a wrestling fan. 2) You watched in the early 90's or even the 80's, but were disgusted with and left the busniess with the Attitude Era. 3) You watched during the Attitude Era, but left after it's apparent demise (or cooling down, at least). 4) Self-explanatory. Â Straight-up ECW mark. Â Please explain if you still watch WWE for the ECW guys, or gave up on the business after ECW died, or if you watch other wreslting forms now. 5) Self-explanatory. Â The Invasion killed your interest. 6) Self-explanatory. 7) Self-explanatory. 8 ) Self-explanatory. 9) Self-explanatory. 10) Other. Â If you hate wreslting, period, or if you were a "different" kind of fan, watching other fans, like, say, Japanese poruresu, or Mexican lucha libre, here's your option. Â Also, use if you are/were an amateur wrestler in college/high school/elsewhere. Or, if you were/are a backyard wrestler or watch it. I am option number One. I'd like to see if they are many, if any, wrestling fans here. And...G'day! -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... Dragon's Head * Completed... I was a wrestler in high school.  I did okay I guess but I would never be good enough to wrestle in college, and that is a HUGE commitment.  Wrestling is a great sport, it takes a lot of hard work, skill, strength, and patience to master.  I don't even consider "Ameteur" wrestling in the same league as the WWE/WWF/WCW, whatever the hell you want to call it.  The WWE has now "evolved" into the male soap opera of our generation.

WWF wrestling was one of my favorite things to watch when i was a kid, but I fell out of it after about 7th grade when it started to become really really stupid to me. I've seen a few shows now and it's just dumb as hell to me, I don't get it anymore. Most of my old favorites are still there (hogan, flair) but they are just washed up and old now, and the new guys are just not doin it for me I guess. They just don't make it like they used to. All the vulgarity and T&A just make it kinda disgusting to watch really, I would never let my kids watch that crap nowadays, while when I was a kid it was very clean. I don't like it. I can respect that others like it, but I really don't want to be subjected to this idiotic display of testosterone and bad writing.

I don't mind watching real, non-choreographed wrestling matches, but unless I know the people wrestling, I get bored with it. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

Didn't watch, didn't care. Still don't watch, still don't care.

If I may, I don't see a difference between WWE wrestling and the daytime soap operas that are on ABC every afternoon. The only difference I really see is that General Hospital seems to have more "violence" than WWE most of the time -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

An overwhelming amount of negative responses.  I feel so alone.

No matter, most people (I'd say like 90%) don't like wrestling. For those who say it's too much like a soap opera, well...that's kinda the point of it. Doesn't matter to me how many people are non-fans, I'll still watch it from here into the foreseeable future. -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... Dragon's Head * Completed... I used to love it back in 6th and 7th grade when everyone my age watched it. The NWO, Goldberg, Hogan, Sting, Kevin Nash, Brett Hart, Stone Cold, the Undertaker, etc. etc. It was exciting to my young and impressionable mind. Now any time I talk about it or stop to watch it for a sec is for a good laugh. The group foot pound on the ground is the best. Wanna know the worst part? NO match ends unless it's from the guy's patented finishing move, or someone brings in a chair and knocks him out after the ref is knocked out. It's just so tiring to watch.

I never ever ever ever ever ever ever ever liked it.

Especially when I had to watch it (Why can't I use more emoticons than that?!) My dad and grandmother used to watch it when I was little, and I would be stuck watching it with them, but they eventually got out of it (THANK YOU GOD)

dude your grandmother watched wrestling? i dont even like wrestling, but that is so god damn COOL. you have no idea how awesome that is, especially if your grandmother is a sweet old lady who drives a big car. in a way it makes it seem to me as if you had a rather interesting childhood besides that, kind of like an altered reality, almost like being stuck in a high world without actually taking drugs. please tell me if there are any other oddities you had the opportunity to sit through as a tender young child.

I find myself agreeing with many of you.  It is a tired, boring soap opera filled with bad acting and horrid scripting.  The women can't wrestle and are most clearly on screen for mostly T&A puropses, and the business has gone from the cleaner, more wrestling-oriented style of the 50's to the 70's to the raunchy, "sports entertainment" debacle that it is today.

But I don't care. Â You can bash it all you want and demean me, but I'll still be a fan from here and on in to the future. Peace. -------------------- ~Status Report~ * Completed... I was a huge fan in the 90s. I loved the Attitude era. Now, I'm still a fan, but I don't really watch it anymore. I follow it, and I like learning about what the hell is going on (because it is a soap opera) but I'm not very interested anymore. It just hasn't been that good lately.

I haven't watched wrestling since Andre the Giant was still slamming Hulk Hogan. It used to rule back then, even when I knew it was fake. I know in a sense, it's not fake but rather a carefully coreographed play. My grandpa used to like watching it (WWF, WCW, Mexican) but just for the wrestling moves and not the stupid scripts. I also used to like the watch the womens wrestling and used to think one of these days, I would do that too (in addition to Roller Derby and being an artist). Well, one out of three things I wanted to do isn't so bad.

I've been a wrestling fan, like my whole family, for my whole life.  People can put it down all they want but it all adds up to the same thing...some people hate baseball some people hate chocolate, etc...we all have different opinions.  I picked choice #1...I'll never stop watching.

Finally, someone who agrees with me!
I was a WCW mark until they got bought up, now I just watch WWE because they're the only game in town. And as far as it not being good lately...agreed. Being a big martial arts fan, wrestling in either of its forms (real and professional) never really appealed to me.  The real wrestling is sort of interesting, but the point system really screws me up and it just doesn't click.  I don't like the fake atmosphere of professional wrestling, since it's more of a TV show than an actual competition, with all the scripting.

I used to watch it awhile ago.  It got boring pretty quick, same stuff repeated over and over I guess. Good guy hates bad guy, they fight, bad guy wins, good guy makes a come back, good guy turns to bad guy and bad guy is now a good guy.  And to whoever said their grandma watched it, my great-grandma watched it, hahaha.  My dad tells me stories about how she's all be hyperactive at them wrestling, I never knew her, but I LOL'd.
