I was just wondering if anyone pays attention to Arena Football, and if so how does it compare to the NFL?

I pay attention to it. Favorite team is the Philadelphia Soul. Don't ask me why.... especially since I frigging HATE the Eagles. I think it's because Jon Bon Jovi is a co-owner of the team, and that's just cool in my opinion.
EA sports just released Arena Football, and I've been playing it alot online with a buddy's X-Box Live gamertag. If you see atallented online for it, give me/my buddy a holler. The official site for the game is here, if you wanna check it out. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

I went to a Chicago Rush game last year, but I just can't get into it. I think the main reason is that it's poorly timed. It starts during the heart of college basketball season, goes through the NBA playoffs, and ends during the stretch run of the baseball season. I'm just not big enough of a football fan to make it a priority.

Thanks. And my friend just got the game too, so if I play it online I'll keep a lookout.

I played a quick game last night with a friend of mine. He likes to use Kurt Warner's Arena team that he played for, the Iowa Barnstormers. Me and my Philly Soul crushed him.
![]() The biggest difference between AFL and NFL, to me, is the scoring. AFL games typically get into the 100+ score range, while a good shootout in the NFL will nab a net of between 40-50 points. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

That and you only get three rushers, and most of the players play multiple positions. Plus the salary cap for the entire team is about two million dollars.

Ha hah... yeah, I noticed that myself.
T.O. definitely would NOT do well in an Arena league. ![]() -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

Moderator Edit Gonna merge this one with the other Arena thread, I think it's such a niche topic that there needn't be two. -R51 These are the current arena football standings. I was just wondering if anyone has a pick for the Arena Bowl based on current performance, even though its early in the season American Conference ------------------- Central Division W L T Pct. They have been playing fairly well and they used to be the Pittsburgh Gladiators! (I'm from Pittsburgh and I wish they still were) I'm also picking the Dallas Desperados as my second choice for the National conference. For the American conference I'd say either Colorado or Chicago. This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 4th March 2006 20:26 |
