OK, so what would you love to add for the Advance version?
Here's my personal choices: *Being able to fulfill the ultimate rumor and regain Leo *The Czar Dragon, after you beat all eight of the "normal" dragons they merge into it But the real meat would be "The Multiverse Nexus Point": This would consist of a few different sections. *The Ultimate Boss Gauntlet, in which you have to fight every boss from all 6 NES/SNES games in a row. And not just the final bosses either, I mean all of them. Hell, maybe Chrono Trigger, too. Not for the faint of heart, obviously. *The Legendary Hero Battles, in which you fight all the playable heroes from the previous five games (and, again, maybe Chrono Trigger as well). Whenever you beat a hero, you get the option to take them into the World of Ruin and run them through Kefka's Tower. The way I see it, this should be a tribute not just to this game, but to Square's entire "golden age" of NES/SNES masterpieces. -------------------- |

I think that fighting al of the bosses from the previous FFs in a row would be rediculous and pointless. I would rather go play those games.
As for getting all of the characters from all the previous FFs, I think that would be even worse than the bosses. Reviving General Leo would be retarded, because it undermines both Death and Kefka's evil. However, CzarDragon, most likely re-translated tino something like Dragon King, would be a nice addition. Perhaps with something similar to the Lunar Ruins trials, with him at the bottom. I'd also like a way to retore the world to Balance, since the World of Balance was much more fun to traverse. |

Hell, Leo doesn't even have to join the main party. Maybe they could show us his past and the Empire's formation, or maybe they could mimic Soul of Rebirth and show him laying the smackdown on Kefka in the afterlife.
And mods, I didn't notice the other thread, so feel free to lock/merge if you wish. -------------------- |

Anticipating this topic's merger, I'll post my thoughts.
I really hope they don't make any drastic changes. FF IV Advance did a ton of things right, by changing only a few plot-important names and making only slight graphical enhancements and adjustments, but I think I'd be crushed if the shiny new FF VI port renamed any towns or characters (I wouldn't mind if they got rid of the default capitalization of character names, but I'd be disappointed if we had Tina rather than Terra, for example). I would almost certainly enjoy an extra dungeon or two, and an additional Esper, some more/better equipment, and some adjustments to character statistics (as in Cyan sucking less, Strago getting better Magic Power, etc.) would also be welcome. Quote (yelanates) Reviving General Leo would be retarded, because it undermines both Death and Kefka's evil. .... I'd also like a way to retore the world to Balance, since the World of Balance was much more fun to traverse. yelanates, how can you complain about Thanos suggesting restoring Leo to life when you suggest restoring the ENTIRE WORLD to life? Reverting back to the World of Balance in any fashion other than some kind of flashback or Cave of Trials-esque thing would be blasphemous. Sure, maybe the WoB was "more fun to traverse," but that doesn't mean you weren't a pot calling the kettle black. -------------------- |

I like the idea of a new esper, and the soul of rebirth dungeon, allowing you to play as Leo, Gestal, and ???????. Maybe some new dungeons like the Wisperwind cove and Hellfire chasm. Those were lots of fun.

I think the idea of fighting all the bosses or bringing characters from older games sounds rediculous. Maybe a few little bitty surprise cameos (ie, finding a random Antlion in the Maranda desert.)
Quote Hell, Leo doesn't even have to join the main party. Maybe they could show us his past and the Empire's formation, or maybe they could mimic Soul of Rebirth and show him laying the smackdown on Kefka in the afterlife. I like the first part, though the problem would be, where in the game would it fit in? No where. Otherwise it would be a good feature. The second one just sounds silly and also couldn't fit in (unless you just wanted to throw it in in the ending credits, but even then, to silly to follow up what had just happened.) Quote I'd also like a way to retore the world to Balance, since the World of Balance was much more fun to traverse. Maybe so, but that defeats the whole purpose of the WoR. It was a ruined world, it wasn't supposed to be funner to traverse, hence traveling back would defeat the entire purpose of Kefka destroying the world in the first place. CzarDragon would definetely be appreciated by all the FF6 fans. And another similar idea would be to throw in a few bonus enemies (such as the old cameos). Like there was a hack awhile back I recall that, when you fought Doomgaze, a second one would randomly appear during the battle. Stuff like that. -------------------- I fear my heart and fear my soul Life goes on, it surely will, Without me and I wonder: Will I ever see light again? Life goes on... |

Czar Dragon and Collosous are the most likely extra bosses. Look at what happened in FFIV... They recycled there, so why not here? (I wasn't happy with FFIV's recycling, and SE may do it again, but i'd be happy with this one) But the problem with Gestahl as an extra character (or "Ghastra" for that matter too) has 7 letters in his name, and the max is 6.

Who says they can't up the limit? FF7 had way more than 6 and it didn't spontaniously collapse on itself and explode.

Who knows? It would be great accually. Then we could have Cayenne instead of Cyan, and Stragus instead of Strago.

This game is the reason I'm buying a GBA.
I'd love to see CzarDragon inplemented. Frankly, I don't care if he gives me anything, I just wanna kill something. Leo, well, leave him dead. Also, let me buy some of the useless things in the auction house. Don't let that rich kid keep winning. I have over 1 million GP, let me buy that useless item. -------------------- "The only difference between a crazy man and a hero is that the hero succeeds in what he sets out to do." Wasn't there some crazy rumor about putting the game memorizing the step # you were on and you could enter that number and warp back there? I would like that. :-p

the czar dragon would be the one thing id love to see in the advance version. the game itself is already perfect, so i dont think id CHANGE anything. perhaps add a new dungeon or two!

I just want to see Czar Dragon, and more input on who gogo is, more of a backstory on that. Oh and what exactly happened bewteen the year that happened when the WoB became the WoR.

Personally I'd like some more things to do in WoR, maybe somehow you could rebuild towns and things. Also as Doomgaze and the other monsters that turn up are meant to be causing havoc shouldn't there be some recognition that the party beat them? I think townspeople should recognise this and maybe give you discounts in shops or free stays at inns. It would just give it more of a realistic sense.
Also on the note of rebuilding towns I think all the members should have a hometown, (Like Strago and Relm) Because characters like Setzer and Celes don't really have much of a background of family, (execpt Darly and the obvious Cid.) Another thing that would be great is if you could actually be more invovled in the part where you are the espers (before Terra comes back to the group in Zozo) maybe fight as them against the empire? And maybe search some live espers in the WoR and get one to join your group? (Part of Terra's past) Thats it! I'm not too sure about the esper idea I just think it would be cool =P) Toodles |

As much as I love the game, they have so much potential to tweak it to being a bit better.
The Czar Dragon should be added for one. More gogo story would be appreciated to. New dungeons of course (perhaps one that reveals shadow and relm's relationship to the characters? -------------------- |

The whole point of Gogo is that he’s a mysterious character; giving him any more development would ruin his persona.
Same goes for Shadow really. It's implied that he is Relm's father; nothing more needs to be said. If they do the whole revelation thing it will just make Shadow's suicide in the end more depressing. -------------------- |

Changes, hm. Glitch and bug fixes, definitely. Bonus dungeons would also be a must here, with Czar Dragon and Colussus as the bosses.
I also thought of a Soul of Rebirth thing with Leo, Banon, ??????, and Shadow, but eeeh, I don't think so highly of that idea after a little bit of thought. Although, I would like to play with the first three more than the time they got, but, eh. Leo and Shadow die for storyline reasons, the ghost is just an optional assist for the Phantom Train quest.... and Banon just vanishes after his use is done. Banon and the ghost as playable characters later on wouldn't cheapen the storyline, but Shadow and Leo, just not kosher, IMO. -------------------- Giggidy giggidy giggidy! Bye, bye bugs! Mostly that, maybe some translation corrections and a little enchanced difficulty.
Improved graphics, jsut for the fun of it. New WoR sidequests, I'm sure they can make up something. A new Weapon, ubber-hard. NO LEO, IF I SEE LEO RESURRECTED I'LL THROW THIS GAME TO THE TRASH! I'd also like some extras, like an art gallery or backgrounds for the characters and enemys. -------------------- That's an exelent way of showing a message of love, with teen sex! |

ok im not entirely sure if this was covered in another thread, but...
what if they remade the game into 3d? Thoughts and comments? hmm, aside from mistranslations and bugs/errors fixed, there's nothing really that needs to be added IMO. Just thought of something. If they do the same thing with FFVI that they did with FFIV and add an extra dungeon that is technically after the last boss, they are going to have to change the steal items for the 3rd section of Kefka’s tower. Otherwise you would end up with an entire party outfitted with Atma Weapons….

I really want to see game as it was originally intended to be. I want a proper translation and fixed bugs. I want to see all the original names of characters, items, and equipment. I want to see the actual story as it is supposed to be. I want to be able to get all 255 rages, not 252. A few additional things are okay, but I am certainly with DarkEdgar on the revival of Leo:
Quote NO LEO, IF I SEE LEO RESURRECTED I'LL THROW THIS GAME TO THE TRASH! I am okay with the censoring of a couple sprites, though: Siren and Critic, since they have actual nudity. But the rest is fine. A little bit more skin isn't going to hurt anyone. Hurray for Phantom Beasts, not Espers! ziegfried, I remember reading somewhere that FFIV: Advance was for 2005, and FFV: Advance and FFVI: Advance are for 2006. However, I wouldn't be surprised if only FFV: Advance is released for Christmas 2006. FFVI: Advance probably wouldn't be long after, though. I think that the Woolsey translation has sort of a special significance, and they should leave the character and town names alone. I would definitely prefer that they keep the name 'Esper'. It was a very clever bit of wordplay on the translators' part, adding another pointer to FF VI's theme of hope. Also, I severely doubt that any crazy **** like Leo coming back or the world restoring to balance is going to happen, and that's a good thing. -------------------- |

I've recently been going through the lists of things that have been changed, and it looks to be at least 75% of the game. The way I see it, her name isn't Terra. It may be what I'm used to seeing, and I still refer to her as that when I'm talking to other people (because that's how they know her), but I see her as Tina, not Terra. Same with Cyan/Cayenne. I know most of the name changes were due to spacing issues, but I'm sure they can manage to fix that. Just use a thinner font. Anyway, I know that most people would rather see the game in its familiar form, and that's understandable, but isn't that what the original is for? Most people either own the original or play it on an emulator. That's great. I own it, too, and I have a lot of fond memories of playing it. Even as a very large portion of it was changed, it is still a great game. What I'd like to see now, though, is the game the way it's supposed to be.
