Square Enix is doing a full remake of FF III, the FF game that was never ported. I wanted this so badly, and now it has to be Nintendo again...

I think you'll find quite a bit of discussion about this remake if you search the forums. I'm not sure if you intend some specific topic here, so I'll let you sort it out.

I'm not very up to date with this forum, but I did a search and it couldn't find anything...

Thanks Rangers.
Not gonna buy Nintendo stuff just for Final Fantasy... Nintendo just has too many kiddy games, and one or two console is more than enough... and that is gonna be Sony... Nintendo has too many kiddy games? That general concensus is so unbelievable at times. If anything you people should be saying "Nintendo doesn't have enough bloody games!" I mean, god forbid they don't have Grand Theft Auto. Did people ever consider that maybe they're going more for quality than quantity? I know both of the new Mortal Kombats are on the Cube, and those are solid games. Nintendo doesn't have to whore themselves out to every single other company because they have their own characters and games they create and work with.

If I can add. FF3 was originally made on Nintendo anyways. Since they made it on Nintendo, Nintendo has half the proffit. They can't make it for sony because sony doesnt like FF6 and down. They had a hard time getting FF origins and 4 5 and 6 on Playstation. Sony is too greedy for FF3.

I'm not saying it needs bloody games, but more mature ones. Most of those Nintendo titles are too 'colourful', and you get to see alot of colourful games on Nintendo systems. I make an exception for Final Fantasy, because they need it. But no escaping from it, a darker Mario would be cool. heck.
Sad thing they could release Chronicles and Anthology on the PSX, but not FFIII... Those games might have been released on Nintendo systems first, it doesn't mean Square Enix is only allowed to make/release them for Nintendo systems. US and Europe never got to see Final Fantasy V on the Nintendo, this gives the right to release them on the PSX. It's nice to see FFIII being remade, but it's sad part is that it's supposed to be part of the traditional FF series, but it ain't. I suppose it's because FFIII didn't had any character depths. - CrAcKo This post has been edited by CrAcKo on 11th February 2006 06:43 -------------------- http://www.marvelknight.tk Video producer/editor, combo maker, MVC guru. http://www.kailleradatabase.tk Resource for online emulation gaming. Rangers, I'm offended that you would not mention that topic. It's the only one with actual screenshots of the game. If you take the time to scroll down you'd see I posted more of them in better quality. Also... "But no escaping from it, a darker Mario would be cool." No, help me god no. I see nothing wrong with games having color in them. It's what makes Nintendo games... Nintendo games. Some gamers are just insecure about their video-game 'image' I guess. You don't need dark and gory games just to have fun. This post has been edited by Phunbaba on 16th February 2006 00:51 |

First of all, I'm a huge fan of what Nintendo's done on such a regular basis, and while it's easy to bash them by putting a "kiddie" label on their games, it's hard to deny that they've come up with consistently awesome and original games over the years. Pikmin 2, Super Mario Sunshine, Wind Waker, I've had a great deal of fun with all of those over the years. And the Gamecube is not a kiddie system. Resident Evil 4 and Eternal Darkness: Sanity's Requiem are cases in point.

How about this: Compare the amount of platforms Nintendo released in the past 6 years to the amount Sony released. Just having a GC isn't enough to play the great Nintendo games, whereas just having a PS2 lets you play *everything* Sony. It's a bang for your buck issue, not a simple bang issue.
It's about damn time FFIIIj gets a rerelease. From experience, I find FFIIIj to be the first FF to nail down gameplay. The previous two games always had something sluggish, a sort of much-ado-about-nothing. FFIIIj was also downright huge for its time, being larger than the first two games combined. Unfortunately for me, and I think I'm echoing people, it's the only game on the DS that's considerable for me. I'm a bit different with portables, though. I avoid them now because the only time I sit down to play anything is with a stationary or a computer available or when I'm in transit, which provokes my motion sickness. |
