But the problem is that we're abandoning great gameplay for graphics eyecandy and marketing sell-outs.

And that is why the Revolution will be a commercial success. Been able to play the truely great video games of all time with a console that also plays the latest in video game technology is just a dream come true, and Nintendo is doing this that is nothing less than SWEET for the fans of today, the ol skoolers that still play, and the ol skoolers that gave up because of the video games of today that lack gameplay and replay value.
SONY and Microsoft better watch out, because it seems to me Nintendo has come up with a console that will totaly revolutionize the gaming world, a new style of gameplay, yet you can stil play the games that started it all!! -------------------- PS3 tag: TipoDLuffy "...quite possibly the greatest game ever made" |

Actually, this video got me all nostalgic... I'm thinking when the Revolution comes out I'm switching back to Nintendo from PS. Seems Square is getting ready to make a jump back to them anyway... So, gonna get me a DS and a Revolution..
Although if Square does release more FFs in the numbered series on PS3 I'll have to get me one of those too. -------------------- Quote Do you think we're forever? |

Don't get me wrong, I really do hope that the Revolution is a good, succesful system. Good competition between Nintendo, Microsoft, and Sony will ensure that all products will continue to strive to improve themselves for years to come. That creativity will stagnate if one of the consoles becomes the only game in town, so to speak.
That being said, I have a gut feeling that the Revolution will flop. I've said it once and I'll reiterate it again; Nintendo consoles jumped the shark with the Super NES. This is only my opinion. So...Microsoft killed Mario? Funny, that. Actually, that whole thing was good fun, heh.
I wonder where the creator(s) of that got some of those scores. I recognized one of them from Heroes of Might and Magic III. -------------------- |
