ya, ive gone through this game about a million times, but im just wondering if there is an easier way to learn zodiac at the end of the deep dungeon.
When i went through (on this particular save), i got zodiac on my main char, but not any of the others. Im curious to know, if i cast innocence on my chars for example, if they got hit with it, if it would have any effect on them? and if it did or not, would they be able to learn it with innocence on? (im just trying to find out a way, i can have 5 summoners survive and learn the summon in the same battle, since, generally speaking they have low hp, due to the fact i use the holy absorb robe alot.) If anyone has any suggestions, or ideas about how i could teach other chars the summon (since allies arent targeted by summons spells it seems difficult, short of your allies being charmed or invited, which is rare anyway)) thx ![]() |

I was able to have Beowulf (with Excalibur equipped) execute Innocent Sword on Elidibs, but like you, Ramza was affected by it (0 points of damage) and learned Zodiac. My Summoners that I intended to learn Zodiac were way out of range at the time.

One small thing is that depending on how smart Elidibs is (or his AI), he may not cast Zodiac with Innocent status knowing that it would have no affect, so I made sure that Bewulf had high speed and the Excalibur to increase my chances by having Innocent casted on him just before Zodiac is casted because while Charging makes that character more susceptible to attacks and status change, and I wanted that "sure thing".

If his AI is so smart, why not cast Pray faith on him, rope him into casting Zodiac with that, and then cast doubt faith since it will always (or at least almost always) hit when he has faith (*snickers at the thought of it*)
I see where your going with this though, and its a good thought, id just like to teach Zodiac to my main and 4 genaric chars instead of Bewulf. -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |

Would it mean that innocent prevents from learning Zodiac? I thought it was because no damage was taken that my characters didn't learn Zodiac a few years ago when I Math Skilled Doubt Faith.
If you want to learn easely Zodiac with your other characters, Make an enemy summoner learn zodiac and kill him. Then pick up the crystal with a character that has no summons at all and choose to learn Zodiac. After that juste go in a battle agaisnt thieves of the opposite sex with all your summoners and the character that can only use zodiac. It should be easy, your summoner should try to cast Zodiac on your party. Charging and casting only makes the character more vulnerable to physical attacks, that's all. -------------------- Sayonara |

I wouldnt think that taking 0 damage from the attack due to innocence would prevent you from learning it, the spell is still cast on your chars, they survive the attack regardless of if it does 0 or 999 damage, i would "assume" thats all that would matter.
As for teaching an enemy summoner the spell and having them cast it on my chars, the enemy would have to survive the attack (first of all) and then i would, assuming i could cast innocence on my caster and then cast it, it wouldnt be that hard (maybe) but as for finding theives of both genders to charm both my male and female chars, and having them survive the attack (assuming innocence doesnt work) or even having enough time to cast it before my own charmed chars attack me... doesnt sound too easy -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |

it's actually pretty easy to do, just a bit time-consuming. i always have one male and one female learn zodiac as their inly summon ability and then have them get charmed.
it's the only way to have everyone learn zodiac |

getting a thief to use charm is another story i suppose but
Any suggestions on where to find these charming theives? ![]() (as in the best or easiest place to find random battles with theives, or places you have done this at before) -------------------- Quote <FrPhoenix[Around]> "Burgleburgleburgle" |
