The FFT guide on this site said that the origin is in a corner when the stairs begin to go up. I passed through the Deep Dungeon for the first time despite having playing this game for the upteenth time and I beat Elidibs (he was in a walk in the park and not that hard to learn Zodiac, either) and I got my hands ont he rare items as well. The question I have is if there is any kind of bonus, reward, or what-have-you for locating the way out with the exception of the location's "dot" turning from red to green or is that it?

The massive experience and incredibly rare treasures aren't reward enough?

Nope, that's it.

The Chirijiraden and the Robe of Lords are reward enough for doing every single floor of the Deep Dungeon. The Cheech's Draw Out ability is one of the most effective offensive moves in the game and the Robe of Lords is hands-down the best piece of defensive equipment in the game, period.

Beating Deep Dungeon allows you to access the secret Final Fantasy treasure vault. That is...you get to play a 15 piece slide puzzle for 100 gp.

It's one of those connectivity things though. You have to hook up your NES and have the original Final Fantasy cartridge for it to work. Let me know if you get stuck.

Thanks for the input. I was just curious. And I agree with Laszlow, the Robe of Lords is the best piece of armor (I gave it to my generic Summoner to give him some significance) and the Knight Swords and Chirijiraden were worthwhile to pick up for sure.
