Not a diehard, but I do enjoy the series. Deadly Alliance is my personal favourite to come out. My favorite fighter was the extremely underrated Sektor. -------------------- Join the Army, see the world, meet interesting people - and kill them. ~Pacifist Badge, 1978 |

Well, I'm rather seasoned in Mortal Kombat II and have won quite a bit of money off of Sub-Zero's footwork. Not really a fan of later games, though, exceptfor maybe Mortal Kombat Gold, I think it was.

Mortal Kombat II is an art, too bad so many new gamers just brush it off these days.

I am a fan but it seems like the series is going down hill. The first games on snes were pretty awesome. And ''Mortal combat trillegy'' for psx. But the newer ones just aren't that impressof. My favorite character a toss up between sub-zero and johnny cage.
P.s. my spelling needs some work. -------------------- "You know that feeling you get when you're on a merry go 'round, and you want to jump off to make the spinning stop, but you know it'll suck when you land? Im no Major fan of the series, but I do appreciate the fighting system, Its one of my favorite.
Though, I can't have it until I move out because of my little sister... And my mother strongly disapproves of the gore content (and level its amplified to) -------------------- Neneko is Neneko because Neneko couldn't be Neneko if Neneko wasn't Neneko! --as quoted from Neneko, Mahoraba {Heartful Days} I can stab a man with a thick paperback book thru the ribcage. |

I like the series. My favorite aspect is the returning characters with brand-new characters. The fatalities and special moves are also cool.

I do like some of the older versions. MK III is probably my next favorite behind Deadly Alliance. The newest one, Deception, I really didn't like at all. The thing that ruined it most for me were the fat man's fart and alcohol fatalities. Lame-o.

I love the story, but I tend to suck quite badly at it.
Favorite character? Kung Lao. Style, man. -------------------- |

I knew about Mortal Kombat a long, long time ago, but I never got into it. Too bloody, too gory, too pointlessly violent. Same goes for most fighting games, for that matter. They're just near-pointless dueling. And who's going to use them for real duels, when real life has swords, guns, Pokémon and Yu-Gi-Oh cards, and gang wars?
I recently got interested from the perspective of humor after seeing "Pixels on the Brain", a flash video special from the Skittles 'n' Bitz series (go to Newgrounds.com to see it; it's actually pretty funny). The parody of Mortal Kombat involved the Bability, and I was surprised that the voice sounded so authentic...then I investigated and found its origin on Wikipedia. I enjoyed the stupid joke for a short time. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! That special moment back in the 90's, the arcade, KABOOM! there it was, the game everyone was talking about because it had blood and whole lot of violence, I loved the series back in the day until MK Trilogy for psONE. My favorite character was Scorpion, and still is, because his back story was amazing and his eternal rivalry with Sub Zero is one of my favorite rivalries. His quote is probably the most famous of all time in video game history... "GET OVER HERE!!"

Mortal Kombat II was the only one I ever really liked. Scorpion rules.

I liked MK through 3, but by then, I felt the finishing moves got a bit out of hand. Babalities never made sense to me. And friendships? Seriously...
I suppose all the cloning didn't help a lot, either (Sub-zero/Scorpion, Cyrax/Sektor, etc.). -------------------- |

oh yes, the MK series is quite good. i used to plau UMK3 a lot on the snes back in the day. loved using kabal and ermac. the only game i didnt like from the series was that one adventure game with subzero....that game kinda sucked...but other than that, all the others were awesome!

Sonya... wins.
Though not very often. She kind of sucked. But as she was the only girl in the game, I felt it was my duty to stick with her anyway. I had better luck with Maleena later on. Sai! I’m not a real fan of the series, but Mortal Kombat: Trilogy was my favorite out of all of them. The newer ones are utter crap compared to today’s fighting game standards especially when Tekken V, Soul Calibur II & III, and Virtua Fighter IV & Evo are around. Plus, I’m a big fan of unique characters and Mortal Kombat has no unique characters.
