I don't know what it is about Spring, but everyone wants to start relationships and date, myself included. So anywho, I bit the bullet and asked a girl from my linguistic's class out to dinner and she said yes.... Ah, Spring. Anyway, that's my short little rant. Anyone else feel that urge to find someone now that the weather is improving?

Ah, Spring. When a young man's fancy turns to thoughts of...global warming.
I kid you not, it was snowing a storm on Monday. On Tuesday, the day immediately following the snow, it topped off at 80 degrees Farenheit. And this is in Maryland, mind you. If that's not a bad sign, I don't know what is. On a more positive note, the hot days are great for basketball, and cold days are great for writing. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. Ahh yes spring time, when the ladies come out with skimpy halter tops and short shorts. However being in Ohio one day it will be 70 the next 40. I am not kidding either, one day it was 65 and the next day I had a game and it was snowing...and this was last weekend. Its not fun standing out in the snow with only a pair of shorts, long socks, and rugby shirt as your uniform

Congrats, Sylphid :) As for me, I intend to continue my relationship with the latest Hot Japanese Pop Stars + Daniel Radcliffe magazine and a bottle of vodka. Just kidding about the vodka *hic*

Spring.... Sp-ring? What is this spring of which you speak of?
Here in the North, we have 2 seasons (3 if we're lucky). From beginning of November until end of April, it's winter. (Maybe every other year, it's the beginning of April, but not usually) From May until the end of October is summer. Occasionally, we get a month of Autumn, but no usually (this is temprature and weather-wise, people. Of course we have all 4 seasons but it just doesn't seem like it.) So yeah, I'm still enjoying my winter, thank you. We just got 3-4 more inches yesterday. I think I'm going skiing -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

Hmm. spring.. in scotland, we know its spring or summer as
1)- the rain gets warmer 2)- the midges get active 3)-the wasps also get active 4)- the football stops 5)- and nothing else changes. -------------------- "Only the dead have seen the end of their quotes being misattributed to Plato." -George Santayana "The world will little note, nor long remember what we say here..." -Abraham Lincoln, prior to the discovery of Irony. |

I hate you. Here there is no spring, there is no Winter, and there is no autumn. It's just summer from November to February and Hellfire temperatures the rest of the time. ho-hum...I hate FL -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

It was spring here for awhile. But then winter came again... -4 degrees celcius right now, blizzard and all. We were actually hoping for a snow day from school today, LoL. Canada has four seasons, but not the ones you're all used to... we have winter, still winter, almost winter, and construction.
And as for all the luvy-duvy stuff associated with spring... ugh, same as every other season for me. -------------------- I close my mouth now and I scream, Open the door, there's nothing worth redeeming I saw your face before in rough, You should wait around a while, your body's bound to turn up. My, god last Tuesday it was 70 degrees F, but today I woke up to 10 degree weather and 2 inches of snow. School wasn't even cancelled. Although 2 inches is nothing, back in my day.......(rambles about lots of snow).
I guess thats what I get for being born in Wisconsin. -------------------- "The time has come," the Walrus said, "To talk of many things: Of shoes--and ships--and sealing-wax-- Of cabbages--and kings-- And why the sea is boiling hot-- And whether pigs have wings." |

Yup, Spring in Wisconsin sucks. 4 inches of snow today, after being in the 70's last week. Not cool.
Spring(when it's actually warm and "spring-like") is great for relationship time though. -------------------- The clouds ran away, opened up the sky And one by one I watched every constellation die And there I was frozen, standing in my backyard Face to face, eye to eye, staring at the last star I should've known, walked all the way home To find that she wasn't here, I'm still all alone -Atmosphere "Always Coming Back Home to You" |

Looks like the golf course opened up a week too soon
I went golfing yesterday. There was still 2 inches on the ground and it was in the middle of a huge blizzard. Must've accumulated another 2 inches just from the time to play 9 holes. But it was rather good. I didn't have to worry about the water hazard since it was like 19 degrees (F) and the ponds were frozen anyway. The sand bunker was was as hard as cement so there was no need to use the sand wedge at all. It was a little tought to find the green sometimes but I noticed the flag whipping back in forth from the 30mph winds. Do you know how hard it is to play with a golf ball the same color as the snow? Yeah, so by the time I finished up 9 holes with my friend, I shot maybe a 200 for a par::60 (read: I sucked it up, but not without good reason) All in all, that was the funnest time golfing I've ever had and more than likely ever will have. -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

Here in Upstate New York we've had short spurts of nice weather, but things turned to a frozen nightmare on Friday the 4th. Â We had a HUGE ice storm (if I remember correctly it's one of the worst storms to hit our town, ever). Â Freezing rain pounded the region, causing mass amounts of tree limbs to fall down at their weak points by the weight of the freezing rain. Â Enough of them fell on power lines, which caused most of the region to be without power. Â My town lost power on Friday at about 1:30 PM, and I didn't get it back until next Tuesday at 3 PM. Â You may not think it's bad at first but think about it for a moment: Â You have no electric-powered heat, so no furnace, and you can't even keep warm in blankets if you toss around too much. Â Most frozen and refrigerated food goes bad, including milk, meat, etc. Â I've still got an enormous tree sitting in my backyard after it had been split in two at the roots. Â After the ice storm on Friday, we went through the weekend with lots of snow and very cold temperatures, and no power to put heat on. Â The only luck we had was that we had our car out of the electric-powered garage, but we didn't have a lot of gas and there were no gas stations close by.
So, yeah, I've had an...interesting Spring so far. Â Sorry if I'm a little off topic. |

Spring in Texas is just the interim period between Winter and Summer, where the weather has an identity crisis. One day it'll be cold and rainy and windy, and the next it gets hot and humid and sticky.
Since Spring's almost over, anyway, it'll start getting where it's just hot and sticky, or hot and rainy. Even crazier weather now. Record highs in the 80's the past two days, but tomorrow? Back down to the 50's.
