Now how in the hell did I, of all people, start a topic?
So, 2006 is officially here! As soon as all you party-goers sober up, why don't you share your hopes and expectations for the year? Maybe a few New Year's resolutions? Hey, why don't you share some 2005 memories while you're at it! I'm not sure why, but I've got a good feeling about '06. -------------------- I find your lack of faith disturbing... |

Happy New Year's, everybody!
I'll start us off. My resolution is to start, and continue, my push-up/sit-up exercise. I will start tomorrow, the first day of '06, by doing one push-up and two crunches at night. Each day after that, I will add one push-up and two crunches. It starts pitifully easy, but once you get up to like 175 push-ups and 350 crunches, it gets nuts (this is where I stopped last year). I want to continue until '07. Oh, and 30 minutes into the new year, our Christmas tree fell over, breaking several of our ornaments and almost landing on me. W00t good new year! -------------------- Is PJ |

Well, you sure did pick a doosy for a topic, eh?
Lessee...I expect to be a year closer to graduating college and I resolve to get me my own scanner, does that count? Serious, I'm tired of relying on a school scanner that's hardly as available as I would like it to be. I gots artwork to show off, for crying out loud! Hee hee, yessirree, once I get that scanner, this year'll already be that much better than last. -------------------- |

Luna's Resolutions
1. Eat more healthily. Not dieting, but eat less junk. (Not looking forward to this one.) 2. Save up for the bass guitar I want! And stop spending money on random things just because I can (like that ocarina I bought yesterday). 3. Find somewhere that sells 'The Odd Couple' on DVD. 4. Take up a hobby OTHER than gaming and being lazy and hanging out in stupid places doing nothing. 5. Buy better hair straighteners. Happy New Year's everyone!
My resolutions... hmmm... I hadn't really thought about it! I guess one would be to try and write more. I've written some really great short stories before, but I'm usually too lazy to start a new one. Although once I start, I won't stop... And that's it for now. Oh, and to pwn. That's my resolution every year. -------------------- The island bathes in the sun's bright rays Distant hills wear a shroud of grey A lonely breeze whispers in the trees Sole witness to history ICO-You were there- |

New Year's Eve was fun last night. I got the chance to watch plenty of Naruto marathons, the Boondocks: R. Kelly Trial, and South Park: Bigger, Longer, and Uncut..
There weren't so much fireworks last night in my neighborhood, sadly.. Oh well, atleast I got to drink beer. =) =) =) Today, was fine. I stayed all cozy in my home watching plenty of Family Guy episodes I taped. Tonight, I decided to make a sprite of Glenn. No, not GMH. Who cares about that guy anyway!?... j/k. It's Glenn a.k.a. Frog from CT. Only cuz I was tired of watching the episodes. 2005 was awesome. I hope 2006 gets even better. |

Happy New Year Wishes (belated I guess ;P)
May CoN be blessed with entertaining threads, a milder temper from Climmy (Josh's temper is just right, I guess) and all that jazz. Resolutions? To finish what I have started (quite a bundle of things) and not "stop" but "bring to the the end" sort of finish. -------------------- "I fell off the mountain of words at around the 10,000ft mark. I spent my New Year's eve partially in CoN chat, the rest of the night dressed up all nice and neat, drunk out of my mind, home alone sitting infront of my t.v. with my guitar in my lap. It was probably the first calm New Years I've ever had.
That being said, 2005 was a hell of a year for me, both good and bad. I had a working, signed band, we toured a good chunk of Canada, made some decent cash and a pretty awesome fanbase and then broke up for no real explicable reason. I took a year off College and spent that time focusing on making myself happy, doing things like playing video games, visiting other provinces and getting thrown out of moving cars...oh wait. Anyways, I hope 2006 turns out to be even better. Legalizing the right to attack small children would REALLY make my year. My resolutions? To become infintely more awesome. ... With a guitar, that is. To finish my last year of College and get the hell out of that mad asylum. and finally, to get at least ONE single night's proper rest. Something I haven't done since '01, thanks to Insomnia. Yaaaaay! -------------------- Okay, but there was a goat! |

Ahh 2005. The year that proved to me that the planet doesn't like poor people. Hurricanes Katrina and Rita, the Tsunami, the earthquakes in Pakistan and Iran. Probably some more things I forgot. (Also joke...relax people.)
2006 is a mid-term election year in the states! Whee! Resolutions? To stay fat. Not stop being fat, but to stay fat. I'm seriously getting ticked at how the fat man is being used. We have to buy all sort of crap to look like people that are genetic freaks? (models) What kind of crap is that? Also the fact that fast and/or fattening food is really cheap, while 'health food' is a bit more expensive. Also you got every single holiday where you have to buy choclate and candy and crap. Seriously, I wouldn't be suprised if we were all buying Veteran's Day choclates and giving Columbus Day cards to everyone... Another resolution: Stop ranting so damn much. -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M. Nixon So if you're done reading this, you know I have nothing to say and you've wasted your time. Thank you come again. |

Happy New Years. For me, personally, 2005 was a great year, as I made some good friends and found some good music. Lots of good times were had, lots of memorable experiences.
My resolution? To do some goddamn work. I'm REALLY lazy, and my approach tends to be 'Why put off 'till tomorrow what you can just not do and then lie about?' Unfortunately, my new school is somewhat stricter, and with the help of a really great teacher and a few letters home, I've been convinced to get work in on time and to get organised. I've also considered drinking alittle less and waking up earlier, but they didn't seem too immediate. |

Happy New Year, all. Honestly, 2005 was probably the best year I've had since I was a "grown-up," living out on my own with my fiancee/wife. We both made great strides in our jobs, and I discovered that maybe I do have some actual value as a web developer - before this past year, I never thought I could actually be successful in the industry. My wife put up with her irritating job and managed to finish almost a third of her MPH degree as well. Beyond those general things, I really don't think that I have any concrete "memories" to speak of - just a general good feeling.
2006, in contrast, has so far been mostly awful. But we're not even a week in yet, so I have hope. My resolutions: 1) To pay off $10000 in debt. 2) To look more seriously at going into $200000 more into debt by buying a condominium. 3) To stay in the gym. I've been slacking a bit since October. 4) To start earlier and try harder to get on a soccer team this year. 5) To be more proactive in working on CoN (the part that matters to me, not the forums ![]() As you all can see, I'm typically dissatisfied with myself. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Well Happy Belated New Years everyone.
As for a New Years Resolution, I think mine would have to be able to remember this year's New Years Eve this time. As for memories of 2005 I guess mine would have to be witnessing all three of my Cleveland teams crash in the end and miss the playoffs (with the exception of the Browns who just crashed in the first week) -------------------- War is for the participants a test of character; it makes bad men worse and good men better. - Joshua Chamberlain U sir R a n00b >:-( - Cactuar |

yes, happy new year everyone!
I too have a debt to pay off, split with my man, we owe $187,000. But buying a house is worth it. I also hope to be able to consistently use the excersise equipment i got from my mom. Video games should help keep me on track with that one. ![]() I also would like to be able to manage my money better. With what our monthly payments actually are, and bills, and such, I should be able to save a little bit of money up but I never do because I spend the rest on useless stuff. So hopefully no more of that. -------------------- The first duty in life is to assume a pose, and the second duty is...well, no one's found out yet. |
