(Disclaimer: I know I sound like a hyped up fanboy, but it's because I can't wait for this system)

The second I can find a Premium console anywhere, it's mine. I plan on getting Project Gotham Racing 3, Perfect Dark Zero, and Call of Duty 2 in addition.

Just bought a HDTV. So now I'm ready. I say let the high definition era of video games begin!

I bought one and had to send it to microsoft the next day because it was broke. I know alot of people that got broken ones. I'd say don't waste your money. It isn't worth the trouble.

Where the hell do you guys find the money to do all of this?

My friend Steve bought a 360, having it preordered since the first day he was allowed to preorder, and set up an arrangement with myself and a bunch of our friends - Steve gets the machine and buys whatever games he wants to, I buy Team Ninja games other than DOAX (which I despise), David buys Mistwalker and Square-Enix games, Nick buys Bioware games, and all of us get to freely use the console whenever we can, although Steve gets priority. Right now Steve has been playing a ton of Kameo and PDZ, and as soon as the copy of DOA4 I reserved over the summer arrives that should keep us amused over winter break when the four of us get back from our respective colleges.

some people don't remember that but that also happened to the first xbox consoles ever sold, which is why i decided to wait a couple months to get one, i'm saving up my money like a mad man
so far i have amassed 346.67, and i don't have a job, allowance or anything right now
it all started with a five dollar bill found on the ground and "in-class" poker
and also i hustled some freshman at hackey sack, even though i'm out of the fad (like 99.8% of people) i can't resist the green, it was a good thing they didn't know that i used to play 201 instead of 21 because me and my bro got so good. so that hustle was good for $40. they won't fall for that again

trying to amass 464 more dollars by may
hope my luck at poker stays the way it is, it's so hard to find people who actually pay up

Something that costs on the order of US$450?

The last time I bought anything close to a system was a Super Game Boy, and that cost $40. The previous actual formal system I bought was a SNES, and that was many, many years ago.

I've recently considered getting a DS or GBA because the GBA has a nice load of pretty cool games, but then again, the computer screen is bigger, and if I wanted it on a TV, I'd have to buy myself a ($200?) GameCube as well.

Asking even $60 out of my parents for a game system would be hard. And even if I had my own income, I'd probably spend it on something else--the closest possibility being a decent desktop computer for about $400.

Why do you hate it so? You can use it as a useful tool to take control of your friends who will want to play it so bad they will do almost anything. It's also a great distraction ploy to get your friends off the cpu so you can use the internet and transfer anime from their computer to yours (maybe this won't work for you to get anime, but still, its good bait. Not that I'm saying you should take advantage of your frineds like that...)

I know someone who got it, and they claim its working just fine.

I hated DOAXBV (and I will probalby hate the sequel) because it completely bastardizes a good franchise of fighting games. DOA's primary criticism is the nature of the "unrealisticness" of the female characters, and that game only fuels the critics' fire while being devoid of interesting gameplay. I absolutely love the DOA fighting games and NG games (I insist to this day that Ninja Gaiden is the best game for the XBox, period) and I'm really interested by DOA Code Cronus, but XBV is simply not a worthwhile game, IMHO.

I doubt it.

Anyways, I got mine last saturday (works perfectly). I ended up only getting Project Gotham Racing 3 and Call of Duty 2. I've asked for Perfect Dark Zero, Dead or Alive 4 and Kameo for Christmas though. I also plan on picking up Condemnded later.

The graphics in high definiton (don't know what they look like in standard definiton) are truly large jump from last generation. And these are only the launch games. Some of the Gamecube's launch games (and certainly PS2's) looked like they could have been run on the N64 then towards the end of the generation GCN was putting out RE4.

I just can't wait to see what's possible on this system.

Games I'm looking forward to...

The Elder Scrolls: IV Oblivion
Too Human
Gears of War
Halo 3
Mass Effect
Banjo Kazooie 3
Lost Planet
Ninja Gaiden 2
Lost Odyssey
Unreal Tournament 2007
Blue Dragon
Battle field 2
Full Auto
Ghost Recon 3
Ninety-nine Nights
Saints Row

DOA 4 has been delayed to December 28th, good luck getting that. Also, Ninja Gaiden 2 hasn't been officially announced for a system yet, but it's extremely likely that when it comes it's going to the 360. I'm helping out my friend with completing his 360 library because there are only a very few 360 games that interest me (namely whatever Square-Enix and Team Ninja produce).

So far I've been really disappointed with the starting library, but I'm sure it will get better once the next generation hits its stride. I still think that the PS3 is going to be way bigger, though.

I heard that Itagaki said that he would only produce Ninja Gaiden 2 for the most powerful system, so alot of people are claiming he might make it for the ps3. Either way, I agree that Ninja Gaiden is the best game on the xbox, and I hope that they make the secong one for the 360.
