Gripe about Galuf (Spoiler-ey)

All right, before I post my gripe, I wanna say that square did a really good job with this game, except for this one thing.
Why, OH WHY, did they kill off Galuf? I can't believe they did that, and then replaced him with that little freaky grandaughter of his! She bites! ;-; And she doesn't even look right on the battle screen!! They all face the side, and she's 1/4 of the way to the front! So the hand and weapon and stuff looks like it's coming out of her back. Bleh. Bad Square. Doesn't Relm kinda face the front more like Krile? Or am I imagining things? Anyway, sorry ^-^
I did find it odd how he died too...it was...I dunno, why there? It makes sense in a realistic way, since you never know when you'll die, but it seemed like they were just trying to make that scene more dramatic by adding death. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

This Final Fantasy, like many others, has more than enough self-sacrifice to go around. I think FFIV was worse though, since the folks who died/nearly died were playable characters, while in V the only one of the martyrs who is a playable character is Galuf. -------------------- Oh sure, I don't have to get kicked in the junk to activate it, but I like it anyway. -- Thief commenting on the difference between Throw and Blue Magic. |

While Galuf is my favorite character, I had no problem with that plot element. In fact, that's part of what made him my favorite character. How he could stand up to Exdeath even when it meant a losing fight. And then the whole HP = 0 thing. And the "WHY WON'T YOU DIE?!?" thing.
And Cara was kinda cute. I generally try to extrapolate the sprites to a realistic-looking person, so she doesn't look quite as ugly as she does just being a sprite. Galuf's death is what makes him the best character in the game
so it was neccessary but why in thw world did he have to be replaced by Krile she annoyed me greatly -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Galuf had a cheeky sense of humour and an amazing personality. Galuf was just Galuf - and one of the best things about him was that you couldn't change who he was, or what he did. I was so sad when he died and very angry when I found out that his 14 yr old grand-daughter took his place. She never was the same.... but her berserker and white mage costume cheered me up.
I'm playing my sixth time through now and I don't want Galuf to die again. Everytime I play he dies. It's an on-going cycle which never ends. I think sometimes I just play again to share those moments with Galuf... he was my favourite out of them all.
