Will there be any way to use the Lete river cheat in the GB Advance version of the game? Without turbo buttons, it looks like maybe not.

Get a GB Player. It would be a shock to me if the GameCube didn't have a turbo controller.

What exactly is the Lete River cheat? I've never heard of that one.

It's a way of getting levels early on in the game.

First, you gotta go into Bannon's status screen, and set his health ability to be in his first slot.

Next, at a certain point in the Lete river raft ride, there is a fork where you can go Left and Up. Your cursor starts on up, but if you take the up path, it loops back around to the way you came...

See what's comming next?

Get a turbo controler, set Turbo on your "select" key, and you will keep looping around that section, you're 3 main charecters will attack, and Bannon will keep using "Health". Go to work/school/play/dinner/sleep, and come back hours later.

I never tried the trick but I understood all you needed was a rubber band to work it.

I don't think it makes a difference how you increase your levels; you'll still get the same stat increases for each level increase (unlike how Pokémon does it). If you're talking about gaining stats from espers, I always found them negligible, but that's just me, so yes, you miss out on opportunities to up your stats by carefully equipping the right espers to the right characters at the right levelups.

Now, I don't know if (and if so, how) this will affect the starting stats that new characters get when they first join your team and first have level and other stats calculated.

I thought the stat increases from Espers were the only stat increases characters received (other that HP and MP)

It wont be horrible, and it definately won't make the game harder/impossible, but its a Much better idea to utilize espers to gain maximum possible statistics. What would you rather have? 30 Strength or 50?

When was the last time Final Fantasy 6 was hard? Yea, using Espers to max your stats is fine, but once you get Ultima and level 99, the game is a joke anyway. I don't mean it to flame anyone, but FF6 isn't the most difficult RPG.

Trust me, the Lete River cheat is useful.

Back ontopic.

There will probably be the Lete River trick, just rubber band or put a weight on the Button. That and put the GBA on an AC adapter. It'll still work, unless Square changes the Lete River scene to prevent it.
