Hot. Here in VA, it really gets hot in the summer. Trouble is in winter it really gets cold too. ANd it hardly ever snows so there's very little white christmas's and frolicking and such. The last time I can recall their being snow on Christmas was the ice storm of '98, and that was a couple days before the 25th, so it's not like it snowed on X-mas day.
One nice thing about winter. When we get like an inch of snow, the school's close. One time their was absolutly NO snow in my neighborhood, but their was enough snow elsewhere in the county that school closed ![]() -------------------- |

Cold, i tend to get REAL warn easily, even if it is like 70 outside, i just plain prefer the cold, esp. when it rains it just means more chilling in my house. however in the sumer in California it gets really hot to point of where i can't really stand it, it really bothers me when it is hot because i feel really sick when it gets hot and get headaches often when it is hot, so cold gets my vote.

Hot.
Took me a while to come to a conclusion about this, but finally. I prefer it hot. When it's hot, all I have to do is turn on the AC. If not, I can still survive, even if it is that hot. (Up to a certain limit, of course.) But when it's cold, I need heating. It's not optional. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! Cold. But then again, I live in Florida, where 60-65 is considered "too cold."

Cold, most definitely. The main reason being, I have a built in defence against the cold in a couple layers of fat. Ever seen a fat man in the summer? It's not pretty.

When you're refering to a mild case of each, I preffer warm over chilly. Warm is comforting, while chilly tends to be annoying.
With the extremeties, though, I'd have to go with cold. When you get inside after being in the cold for a while, you warm up. End of story. When you come inside after being in the sweltering heat, you cool down. And then you still smell bad. And are slimy. Perhaps as a large guy (6'5'', 200) that makes me more biased, but everyone sweats to some degree, right? There's also something about the air when it's cold that makes it feel crisper, cleaner somehow. It's difficult to explain if you don't know what I'm talking about, but it, along with the abscence of sweat, makes me choose cold. |

Cold. I'm a fat guy, no dancing around it. It gets unbareable when I get hot. Haven't passed out or anything like that, but I've got to much surface area to sweat.
You can do something about the cold. Heat. Curse all people who say "But you're Canadian, you should be used to the cold!" I love heat, and would much rather drink cold water and fruit smoothies to keep relatively cool than cower under a blanket to warm up.

High temperature brings your body to be able to do next to nothing, yet it's perfect for relaxion.
Low temperature hurts because you are burnt in the inside when your blood starts to crystallise because your body cannot heat enough anymore to prevent it. Both are really a pain, but I'll choose Hot because I have never been able to correctly protect my face from the low temperature and breathe well at the same time in winter. That is because I always wear something that covers the mouth which make it much harder to breathe. -------------------- Sayonara |

Man, I just watched "March of the Penguins" today, and I must re-assert my previous answer of "hot." Vigorously.

I'm a cold fan forever. My reasons:
* Buying a white choc mocha on a cold winter morning beats buying a blue-flavoured slush on a summer afternoon. * Christmas, and my birthday of course! I like Christmas-related stuff. Eating chocolate for breakfast is fun. * I live in the UK. I have no choice but to put up with the cold. * I'm extremely pale. If my skin is in contact with sunlight for 5 minutes I literally sizzle. * Ben and Jerry's is cold. * My favourite weather is rainy weather. Is that weird? * I don't like summer. Being hot isn't fun. I just take refuge in my bedroom all summer, with the blinds down. The sunlight shines onto my TV screen, which I don't like. * Outdoor PE in summer. Need I say any more? Also, my school can't afford AC on boiling hot summer days in poorly-ventilated classrooms with smelly people sat, like, two inches away from you. Ew! No fun! -------------------- 'Bastards, we may be, but clever are we.' Thorn, FFIX |

I've decided I love the cold. All you gotta do to stay warm is add more layers (admittedly it's easier said than done). When it's hot on the other hand, you gotta wait for your body to regulate your temperature through sweating, an activity I don't enjoy participating in, but God knows I do it more than enough.

Quote (Luna @ 13th December 2005 15:00) * Ben and Jerry's is cold. But you can't really truly enjoy it in cold weather, ice cream is at it's best in the heat! Maybe that's just me, but eating ice cream when it's cold makes me feel absolutely terrible. Cold is so painful. SO painful. I prefer discomfort over physical pain. I admit sunburning is awful and painful, i've been hospitalized for sunburn, and the UV index can help you prepare in advance, but a -40 windchill with a so-called 'frostbite index' of 5 minutes is worse! Meaning exposed skin gets frostbitten in a matter of minutes, of course. Though I can't really complain about that now, we just had a chinook roll in and the tempreature has climbed ten degrees in the last hour! Yesss! ![]() -------------------- The first duty in life is to assume a pose, and the second duty is...well, no one's found out yet. |
