With the new ability to change your party in FF4A, what will you do? Remember of course, Cecil must stay in the party.
I for one, will go for a powerful magic team of Palom, Porom, Cecil, Rosa and Rydia. Well? |

First of all, I almost always like RPG teams to be full of, well, role players. No matter what, I would want my final team to have a strong Black magic presence, a strong White magic presence, and at least two powerful physical attackers. I really don't know have any idea as to how effective Edward 2.0 is, so I won't comment on him just yet. No matter what I say here, I'll be experimenting with everyone so I can craft a final party to my liking.
I'm thinking I might replace Kain and Edge with Cid and Yang, but it really depends on how frail Yang is and how powerful Cid is - my only real beefs with Kain and Edge are Kain's weak final weapon and lack of variety and Edge's low HP, so if Kain can do damage more reliably than Cid and Yang isn't that much sturdier than Edge it might not be worth it. Replacing Rosa and/or Rydia is less likely, seeing as both of them learn more white and black magic than either twin, but if the twins have superior stats in a certain area or if the Twin special dual tech is super-awesome I might reconsider. Rydia is probably my favorite character in the game, so I'd be pretty reluctant to replace her with the five-year-old Palom unless he had something significantly interesting enough to make him worth using. Sure, he learns a bunch of spells at earlier levels, but who cares when you're that far into the lategame? -------------------- |

I'd like to try a 'girl power' party of: Rosa, Rydia, Porom, Cecil (he's default, isn't he) and..... maybe (?) Anna! That'd be cool if she were one of the hidden characters.

I don't think there are any hidden characters... the 1up preview stated that the only major changes to the hardtype version were the bonus dungeons and the five returning characters after the giant of babil.

Cid sounds interesting, as does Yang, although I hope that there are other weapons besides just the "bonus" ones - if Yang's only option is a holy enchanted set of claws, he'll have a tough time against some of the holy-resistant enemies.
Im not too keen on Palom and Porom. They were fun, but honestly.. I wasn't too upset to see them go. Rydia and Rosa are overall better mages, and I dont think Palom and Porom's extra abilities really bring much to the table. Then there's Edward. Im wondering if his special "test" might be "How badly can I suck?" which should prove easy for him. -------------------- Oh sure, I don't have to get kicked in the junk to activate it, but I like it anyway. -- Thief commenting on the difference between Throw and Blue Magic. |

Easy, Cid, Cid, Cid, Cid and...lets' go with Cid.
Since that's not possible (darn imperfect world!!!) probably go with Cid, Rosa, Cecil, Rydia and Yang. Face it, Kain's Jump is all he's got. Edge is pointless. At least Edward is a pretty boy. Edit Mind you, throw Excalibers is cheating and cheating is bad! I was experimenting with some sprites before and I was thinking of making some battle sprites for her out of the single one she has when talking to Edward after her death. ![]() |
