Is it Golbez or Goblez????
Well???? Cuz I've been reading and saying Goblez for like 10 years. I feel like I don't even know what kind of person I am anymore... ![]() -------------------- ''The modern dictators are reviving a very ancient and encrusted way of life.'' [WHAT I THINK, Adlai Stevenson] |

Golbez.
I sometimes read words and names wrong, or pronounce them wrong if I've only ever read them. This post has been edited by Elena99 on 25th November 2005 07:29 -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

Yeah, Golbez.
If it makes you feel better, when we played FF1 the first time, we pronounced "Chaos" as "Chowss" and ridiculed our one friend who said it was "kay-ahs." Childhood hubris. I also said Celes as "seals" until about five years ago. And I thought "Zanarkand" was "Zarkenland" until I actually played FF10. If not for voice acting, who knows where I'd be. -------------------- Some ghost of me might greet my son the day he is delivered. Eternal Sleep, Track 1-1: The Blue Planet |

Neither..
It's Golbeze. Just kidding, I've seen it spelt that way before, but I like Golbez more so I'm gonna have to advise you to call him by that name. |

Golbez: the spelling from the English FFII for SNES.
Golbeze: the spelling from the fan-translated SNES ROM of FFIV. Goblez: a cross between a goblin (a.k.a. imp) and a lizard who can't spell, or a PR turkey who can't spell either. To quote one of the guys from Fabul castle, "g... Golbez..."
Heh, and for about the first year of playing FFVI I said "Cell-ees" for Celes. -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." "Arthur Philip Dent?" "Yes." "You're a total knee biter." |

It is comprensible, I had a similar problem when refering the Four Dawn Warriors or FFV. ( I thought they were the "Four Damn Warriors"...for more than 2 years, until my little brother told me I was pronounced it wrong ...). I was 18 back then....

I guess compared to your faux pas, mine is pretty insignificant. Man that's a load off.
