The walkthrough only mentions scripted/story battles. The first nine levels of the deep dungeon only have a set of random battle formations just like you'd see in places like Zirekile Falls or Mandalia Plains

Can you Invite Elidibs?
I've heard that you can.
Or Byblos?

If you want to spread false rumors, you will not be able to do that here.

If that wasn't your first idea, I would clearly check the source of that information if I were you since it's false.

As for the deep dungeon, the only battle in it that isn't random is the one with the Serpentarius, Zodiac-summoning guy, Elidibs. After you defeat him, the place turns out like the others level (random battles), and also the best place to aim for pigs and 3-headed dragons.

Edit
Looks like I've mistaken byblos for the apandas. But for Elidibs, you're just hearing things.

You can't invite Zodiac Demons, nor can you invite special monsters (Apanda, Archaic Demon, Ultima Demon, Byblos) by normal means (Invite ratio = 0%). Byblos joins your party so long as it survives the battle, anyway.
