I believe there's already a large thread for posting your desktop image. Unless that image shows something special that you can only do with StyleXP - I'm not sure because I've never used it and I've never bothered to really try to mess with my XP all that much.

For anyone still in doubt (as their blurb isn't that clear), the point of StyleXP is to allow you to use other styles for Windows XP than the "Windows Classic Style" and "Windows XP Style" it's shipped with.
It does this by overriding Microsoft's requirement that themes are digitally signed by themselves. You can also do the same thing by making a specific edit to uxtheme.dll. Microsoft employees have said that pretty much the only reason for this requirement is so they don't have to support buggy third party styles, so it's not especially unsafe. Personally, I use the uxtheme.dll hack method to display my green variant of the standard blue "Windows XP Style", which also has a few other tweaks, notably reducing the quite ridiculous default titlebar height in XP themes. Wise advice: DONT CHANGE THE START-UP GRAPHIC!
It can slightly screw up your cpu every time you start it up, unless you bought the program. I used to have it for 30 day free trial. I changed it from the basic one to the Legend of Zelda logo. Now it asks me if I want to boot up with the standard one, or the LoZ one, and it restarts each time i choose the LoZ bootscreen. I used it to change the log-in screen from its basic view to the FFVI screen I have on there right now. It has the Logo graphic, Terra in MTek armor graphic, and the Preamble to the game. I also used it to change my start bar to a custom Square bar. The program ran out and I can't have the Square-bar anymore. -------------------- Neneko is Neneko because Neneko couldn't be Neneko if Neneko wasn't Neneko! --as quoted from Neneko, Mahoraba {Heartful Days} I can stab a man with a thick paperback book thru the ribcage. |
