w00t! Today's a game day in my CAD/3D Animation/TA classes (all the same teacher) so I decided to get on here and post.
My favorite classes are the ones above because I easily understand it, I have fun using the programs, My friends are in it, and the teacher is pretty cool. Best of all, I have CAD/TA 1st and 2nd period, so I stay in the class for over an hour. In retrospect, I hated my Spanish classes from last year and the year before, mainly because of the teacher, and partially because my classmates are idiots. So... whats your favorite (or least favorite) classes? Edit Oops, I forgot my Math Classes. I call them my "self esteem" classes because I can do a lot of the equations without a calculator, compared to many of my classmates. Whats funny is i get it done faster too. This year in Trig, I only need a calculator for Sine, Cosine, and Tangent formulas. Everything else is on the paper or in my head. Whats really hard to believe is noone in my class can do the fourth root of 81 without a calculator... thats why i call it self esteem ![]() This post has been edited by strikerbolt on 23rd November 2005 16:24 -------------------- Neneko is Neneko because Neneko couldn't be Neneko if Neneko wasn't Neneko! --as quoted from Neneko, Mahoraba {Heartful Days} I can stab a man with a thick paperback book thru the ribcage. |

Favorite: either the Astronomy: Possibilities of Extraterrestrial Life class I took second semester last year or my Media Studies course from first semester last year. Marching band is technically a course and I get credit for it, but I'm not counting it. It's not a real class, come on.
Least Favorite: Real Analysis from first semester last year, almost definitely. Some of those proofs... ugh.... -------------------- |

Like Laszlow, technically my Tae Kwon Do course is just that, but I won't count it for this..... so I would probably go with my computer science class. This is my first experience with any sort of programming and I find it quite enjoyable

I really enjoy Philosophy and Ethics, actually. I went into the class at a bit of a disadvantage, as parts of the course would be more familiar to those who'd taken Religious Education last year, and I hadn't, but, to toot my own horn alittle, I haven't encountered any problems so far and consistently achieve A grades. That's only half the reason I enjoy it, however. Most classes, I'm kinda lazy, I mean, I contribute, and I don't have any problems, but I don't find any of them thought-provoking or engaging as I do Philosophy, which is nice. Compared to other classes, Philosophy just flies by.
Least favourite would be English. I chose it, to be honest, because it was always my best subject, not because I enjoy it as well, and that's kicked me in the ass a bit. I don't learn much by being talked at, I tend to just switch off and start doodling or something, and English is an hour and a quarter of solid just flicking through a book, annotating pages. I'd quite enjoy it if I had a nice teacher, but it's just so dull. Honourable mention to Maths, my absolute worst subject. A combination of hatred for my teachers and general idiocy saw me scrape a grade D at GCSE, and forced me to re-take it this year. The truth is, I can barely even divide without a calculator, and I'm not even talking decimals here, which is slightly embarrassing. This post has been edited by Mimic on 23rd November 2005 18:06 |

Quote (laszlow @ 23rd November 2005 11:20) Favorite: either the Astronomy: Possibilities of Extraterrestrial Life class I took second semester last year or my Media Studies course from first semester last year. Some of those proofs... ugh.... My least favorite class might have been complex analysis before this semester. Fewer proofs, but Im starting to be convinced that the CIA has been using line integrals as a method of torture in Guantanamo Bay. Unfortunately, this semester introduced me to the wonders of Medical Imaging, my new least favorite class. Favorite class? Tie between History of Science and Religion and Image Processing. I didn't do excellent in either class, but I did fair, and the coursework kept me intrigued. The nice thing about the History of Science and Religion class is that the professor was incredibly open-minded about both sides of the debate, and she did a very good job of mediating the class to keep arguments at bay. For image processing, I just thought it was amazing to be able to do all the stuff that you can do to images - for my final project I made an inpainting algorithm. On the downside.. I now look at shows like CSI and what they do to image processing on those shows and feel ill. Especially CSI:Miami! ![]() -------------------- Oh sure, I don't have to get kicked in the junk to activate it, but I like it anyway. -- Thief commenting on the difference between Throw and Blue Magic. |

My favourite is Geology. I took a History of the Earth course, which covered everything from rocks (of course!) to ancient life. Geology is definitely something I want to continue, but sadly it's not working out in my favour. A while back I realized my student loans were climbing too high so I went back to work. I'm debating whether or not to suck it up and just go get my Geology PHD but I'd be looking at another eight years of student loans... Aaack!

Art is probably my favourite subject, then English. Apparently I'm "gifted" at Maths, but I don't believe it for a minute. I mean, loci, wtf? ICT is insanely easy. Music is laaaame. I don't really like school. Teachers hate me. I mean, I do well, but I guess they don't like my never-ending protests and campaigns.

Favorite class would be the Political Sciences and the like. The teacher's got this thick Eastern European accent, so you can't fall asleep. Good for 2 and a half hour classes late at night. Also he tells his life story, his father was a resistance fighter in Bulgaria during WWII fighting the Nazis and he (my teacher) resisted the Soviets with peaceful protests before escaping to Italy then America.
Nazi-fighting+Commie-resisting=Awesome, awesome like ![]() ![]() Oh yeah, the subject matter is like crack for me. Addictive as hell. Intriguing!!! Least favorite: Math above and including begining algebra. Failed fifteen tests in a row. I hate math soooooooo much. ![]() (I of course apologize for using emoticons like a twelve year old who needs his medication. God...I feel so dirty. Sorry for the emoticons, really. I have no idea what I'm doing anymore.) -------------------- Really Random Quote of the Day: "Short of changing human nature, therefore, the only way to achieve a practical, livable peace in a world of competing nations is to take the profit out of war." - Richard M.
