There should be one more monster on that walkthrough. I forgot the name, but I'm sure it's a rock-like monster that lets you steal Glasses from him.

EDIT: Oh, btw, I just noticed that the Gigas in FFV: Escaping Karnak Castle, drops Elixir and carries 350 for stealing.. That's WRONG. You can steal Elixir from him, and he drops Giant Drinks..

And also, at the Ancient library, Page 256 Monster also has the wrong items. He drops nothing, and you can either steal a Potion or a Stealth Robe from him.

Oh yeah, Byblos also carries Luck Mallet.. but I don't know about the Hard Body. Actually, I think that's right.. Just the Luck Mallet is the missing thing I guess.

BTW, I'm pretty sure QuadrHarpy also carries a Trident spear. But like Byblos's Hard Body, I'm not sure about Q.Harpy's Pheonix Down.

More to come..

probably the psx version is more different than the original for monsters items.. But i'm staying original to the snes.

There's already a large scale effort underway to work on both of these sections. You're welcome to add things to this thread as you wish.

Also, staying original to the SNES doesn't matter since we don't and won't cover the unofficial translation.

Here's a site that had better bestiary. So, I guess copying it would.. improve it? http://www.ffonline.com/ff5/enemies-ab.htm

By the way, I finally remember that Byblos DOES NOT carry Hard Body for stealing. Replace it with Dark matter.

If you trust me, I'd be more than glad to do the whole Bestiary info for you guys.

Thanks for the offer, Neo, but that won't be necessary. With the aid of RuneLancer's nasty good programming skillz0rz, we will soon have the most complete beastiary of FFV anywhere. I figured out exactly which bytes control what in the ROM and where the enemy stats are located, so I just sent those over to RL and he's makin me a dumper as we speak.

So basically, we will have the stats directly from the ROM, unaltered, and 100% fool-proof.

However, I haven't figured out how items are stored yet, although I thought I had at one point. Once either Djibriel or I figure that out, we'll have RL do the same thing for items and we will have everything you could possibly want in a FFV beastiary.

Oh, and lastly, there is no dignity in copying another site's work and information; plus, who's saying that their information isn't inaccurate? tongue.gif

R51, I shoudl have all the info packaged up and ready to go shortly. And by shortly I mean in prolly a week.

Bit of a rush job (~an hour, ground-up), and it's been ages since I've last written a Win32 C++ program. It was great fun though. smile.gif Kept my mind off of this weekend's events. It produces a nice little .txt. Check your emails when you can, Caesar; still gotta work out how you want the output formatted.

Dumped straight from the ROM. In other words, fully error-free: no human element was introduced in the dumping of this data. smile.gif Well, unless Caesar didn't crack the format properly or I miscoded something, but that's a minor setback and everything came out fine so far.

I would also like to add in the Job section, that Black Mage's final skill, 30% MP Up should take 450 JP to master.

I've been seeing monsters missing items with the steal command..

Zuu includes an Elixir for stealing. Zuu does not drop any items.

X-Death (Castle) includes an Elixir for stealing, and a Judge Staff as a rare item for stealing.

I discovered an error on your Walkthrough section "Island Shrine". The treasure chest there that allows you to obtain a Razor Ring has another boss other than Invisible. Pantera at times shows itself inside that chest. If you escape, you'll eventually see Pantera in the formation instead of Invisible. By the way Pantera has an Elixir as a rare item for stealing. =)
