1. how many people currently registered
At the bottom of the main forum page: "We have 2,193 registered members" 2. how many people it takes to run the site From the members search page: 3 admins, 3 global mods, 6 (other) mods, 9 (other staff), and 3 'staff emeritus' (meaning they did stuff back in the day) 3. are the CoN staff friends? Depends on how well you know them. Some are friendlier than others. 4. how many banned? Can't tell ya that one. The admins are the only people who know that. 5. log of users at given times? Not at random times, but at two specific times: "currently" and "maximum". You can find these on the main page as well. 6. have fun here? Heck yeah. Edit By the way, would you mind just putting a single "?" at the end of each of your questions? If you really are puzzled (which I doubt you are), it's okay to simply come out and say you're puzzled. Using multiple "?"s throws me off as I'm trying to figure out what you really mean. You can also check out the wonderful and newly updated staff page for (most of) your staffer answers. After all, it's what it's there for.

It sounds way off but if I had to guess I'd say we have 964 banned members.
I base this on the user id of the newest member, cloud tidus 1, which is 3158. His user number is 964 higher than 2194 (the current registered members). The only possible way I can account for the user id to be higher than the current users is that the SQL database just increments and there are no instructions to shift all data down a position when a row is deleted (that would be basically pointless). Tiddles can probably elaborate. |

There's only one reasonable explanation for the user numbers being completely out, and it's that there's no reasonable explanation for it. Same's true of topic and post numbers - hardly any get physically deleted but we still have massive gaps.
Using my skills of an administrator, I can tell you that 25 people are in the banned group. I don't believe we have many (if any) people banned via other cruel and unusual methods. While we're in the realm of interesting(?) stats, I can also tell you that 496 members have validated their registration but never posted. That's not as bad as it might sound -- I was surprised at how low that is for the total number of registrations, as I've seen much worse. However, as this forum currently gives you no tangible benefits from registration other than the ability to post on the forum, it seems a bit of a waste of time to register and not post. But hey -- your call, lurk-o-folks. |
