Pretty self-explanitory
Use any criteria you want I excluded FF1-3 because there's little story involved, and No Story = No personalities For FF6 (I hope I'm needlessly explaining this) Terra is main for WoB and Celes is main for WoR, so 2 -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

I'd have to say Cecil. I mean it's the thing about redeeming himself. I have to say it, because he rocked. He brought up the questioning of authority to me. THat is essencial to being a teenager!
I laugh at Benjamin! What a loser! ![]() But my fav hero would be Fei from Xenogears, it's not FF, but he was one of the best written characters ever. If you have patience, play Xenogears, you'll never regret it. ...Unless you're like my brother, always yelling "WHO IS THAT? WHAT IS GOING ON? WHO AM I? I had to vote Cloud on this one. He had to struggle through his past and old memories (like in every game), but I dont know. I just liked him.

Nomatter how many games come out, I will ALWAYS find Terra the most interesting. She is just so cute.

WHAT?!?!?! Where's the FF2 team?!?!? ARGHHHH!!!!!!! I loved FF2's "collective lead' (Frioniel, Maria and Guy, especially Guy) The only part with null personality was 1, and that was only counting for the LightWarriors. Sheeeeeeeeesh....... It was a tough choice between Ramza and Cloud, but in the end, Cloud ended up on top.

I love Cecil and I love FFIV. I voted for him. A VERY close second is my favorite female FF character, Celes of FFVI.

I've never been a big fan of Final Fantasy main characters, as they're usually the most one-dimensional of the lot, despite their position.
Nonetheless, I've always loved Terra. She had a great personality and a good deal of inner conflict, and in the end she really developed as a character. Not to mention her spells were crazy powerful, and she had neat green hair. Second place goes to Ramza. -------------------- "I always have a quotation for everything - it saves original thinking." ~Dorothy L. I voted for Ramza because he was the most likeable of the bunch. Although he was the warrior of justice, there was an obvious path available to him that he could've taken that would've been much easier. He was so much more well-developed than all of the other main characters that I can't help but like him the best.

I too voted for Ramza, just cause neither Kain and Locke were on the list. There was just something about him that was likeable. Plus, he was basically considered the black sheep of the family yet he was the only saved the world.

I'd have to disagree. With FFII, there was quite a bit of plot. Your characters had names and personality. They were already assigned a class (so began the tradition of 'fixed' characters in even number FF, and 'pick your class' characters for odd number FF that was broken with FFVII). You're right when you say FFI and FFIII didn't have much character depth. But FFII did have a story and characters to match it. In my book, FFII was the first 'real' FF. -------------------- kame, tortue, tortuga, schildkröte, tartaruga, turtle "Arthur Dent?" "Yes." "Arthur Philip Dent?" "Yes." "You're a total knee biter." |

I went for Zidane cause I'll never change my opinion that FFVI doesn't really have a main character, though I do like Terra the most.
Zidane is kind of a guilty pleasure you might say. He's of the 'goody two-shoes' variety of hero which makes him fairly one-demensional. But he had so much energy that it didn't really matter to me, I just found him to be a very fun kinda character. That kinda describes the game too, simple but fun. -------------------- |

Ramza, baby. He was about the only character in the series, besides Celes, who had a believable storyline.

Celes was grand. She had great character, with all the tragedy (I always killed off Cid in the WoR, for story purposes) and redemption and such. Plus she was the most well-rounded character in FF6.
I haven't played enough of FFT, and right now Ramza is just clueless so I don't like him. Terra was a little annoying really, with her constant "what is love?" pining, turn on some Haddaway, jeez. And Cloud was too inconsistent, sometimes being a jerk, other times being a hero-guy. I dunno, not a huge fan. -------------------- I close my mouth now and I scream, Open the door, there's nothing worth redeeming I saw your face before in rough, You should wait around a while, your body's bound to turn up. How could anyone not vote for cloud? Â It was he who got me interested into the Final Fantasy universe. Â It is he who is, and will forever remain, the best main character of any and all games existent in the FF Series.

Wow... I'm the only one who went with Tidus.
I loved Tidus. His in your face attitude. How he reacted with the other charecters. His passion in what he did. Never giving up. And in the end..
Tidus was my favorite... followed shortly by Cecil. -------------------- "And that, my liege, is how we know the Earth to be banana-shaped” -Sir Bedevere the Wise |

I disagree with your choices for lead character I think the lead character for FF6 is an all out tie. I think every character is pretty much as involved as the other characters. The only way their not is if you don't put them in your party. Though with the choices you gave me I voted for Terra but now after thinking about Terra was just a whiner about love. I like Celes much better.

Close call, but I voted for Ramza, just a step ahead of Jidane (that's his name in France, for obvious reasons to anyone who knows european soccer). They both are believable characters, with altruistic goals, but I too think that being the black sheep of the Beoulves is a cool thing for a leading character. Plus Ramza is the main character that has the largest family of all the FF (two brothers, a sister, and a father that is none other than a Heavenly Knight).

Meh, I voted Benjamin, cause he was funny, and everyone says he was stupid, i decided to be different, but no doubt, Janus(Magus to those who've not realized(CT) is defintly the best character ever; followed by Setzer, Gogo, Umaro, and Mog; then Crono; then Shadow; then Glenn(Frog(CT); and then Cecil, with Edge close behind; and Ness nearby, and Poo next to Ness. I didn't like FFX much it was weird. and good point wheatsac, i didn't like Terra's whining..."I think i understand what you meant General Leo..."---Terra WoR, wandering the Falcon...how dumb of a phrase is that?!Celes was better...but yeh, so many characters, they were all the main basically, yeh the story focused on one more then others at a point, but...so what? they all had to be there(minus one) at the end of the game to beat the crap outta Kefka, right?! YEH I THOUGHT SO!!! but yeah...I'm done with my rants...except for: FFIX was so stupid, semi-anthromorphs in a FF game, so lame! stick to human beings Square!!!
(I did not use it as an insult, it was merely a statement meaning nothing, therefore I have changed it.) -------------------- .:.crickets chirping.:.
