Life Pulse Forums
This site is the only one I moderate. We're doing pretty good with members, we have about 30. I also frequent GameFaqs, there I am krakenlich. Of course, my favorite by far is the Caves. -------------------- eh? |

Since my last post in this thread, if I recall correctly, I joined the Planet Megaman Forums ( http://www.planet-megaman.com/ ), and briefly posted there. One of their interesting features is that you'll have to click on a user's profile just to see their post-count, which is just this tiny number on her/his profile page.
However, it was also a forum that, like most forums, were rampant with flame wars, off-topic posts, useless posts, and (probably the visual discouragement) lots of multicolored images--background, post boxes, sig images, flashy avatars, etc.. I lost motivation after a short time, and I had stuff to do. So, these days, I'm a member at about seven forums, but I regularly post at only one--the Caves of Narshe. The others I visit negligibly. -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! Since *my* last post in this thread, it's changed up a bit. I've joined kawaii-radio.net's forum, left RPGClassics and To Prove Their Worth, Anim3 and Twilight are down, and I'm returning to Boards.jp after a month of inactivity.
from 10 forums to 7, and it was just 5 for awhile. Some change. @_@ |

Forums I haunt:
The Demimonde - which I also help Mod, not that it needs it too much. HeroRealm - mostly to catch up on comic news. Not that much interesting discussion there for me. Sci-Fi Channel's Battlestar Galactica Forum - Mostly lurk there. Only posted a handful of times. |

Eyes on FF has a bad reputation. From internet proms to constant hack attempts to numerous articles on the internet how creepy members there are. I never personally visited the site, unless it was after a large raid or hack or a new site decides to write something about the forum. I only hear good things about ffgurus though, I am suprised they are still up though. Well, I pretty much over the years been members of: FFonline Final Fantasy World's Apart Many old Final Fantasy clubs formerly on yahoo FFmyths FFgenerations RPGwars House of Game -HOG- Final Fantasy Heaven Gamefaqs BetaFF FFalpha FFhorizon and countless others. -------------------- His Divine Shadow |

I spend most of my time on various developement forums.
http://www.mnrogar.com/phpBB2/ Mnrogar's boards are the best when it comes to ROM hacking. They specialise in FF3e, but general purpose stuff and other games are discussed every once in a while. Most of it is very serious ROM hacking (ie, assembly hacks) but they'll help with anything people ask. http://www.rpg-dev.net/forum/ A more or less dead forum now, but stuff comes up every once in a while. Mainly indie game developement. http://www.rpgdx.net/forums/ Same deal here. More active though. Most of it involves LordGalbalan, a very, very pityful programmer who knows next to nothing about the field but tries to mold it to his own liking and gets upset when he's told "it just doesn't work that way, dude." http://s2.excoboard.com/exco/index.php?boardid=11679 And hey, the Endless Saga boards. Developement has been pretty dead lately because of the stuff I've been caught up in (moving, then having my building burn down) but despite that some good RPG discussions come up. -------------------- "Judge not a man by his thoughts and words, but by the quality and quantity of liquor in his possession and the likelyhood of him sharing." |

Besides these forums, I frequent the following:
Heroes of Ivalice - An affiliate of CoN and my project at online gaming via forum boards. It just finished a very successful first run and the second game should start around New Year's. SimRTK - A forum based game similar in format to HoI above. This is based on the Romance of the Three Kingdoms and Dynasty Warriors games created by Koei. Flashback Humor - Originally it was just a webcomic, but now the forums are going to be a place for online gaming, specifically Shadowrun and World of Darkness. FF Gurus - I mostly shadow those boards, but I do go there quite a bit. |

I've also started going to www.crafster.org, since I'm learning to knit.
They've got interesting crafts made by gamers there, too. Things with Mario on it, and Zelda, space invaders, etc. -------------------- I had an old signature. Now I've changed it. |

besides CoN, i go to:
ffnet.net eyesonff.com blootixrevolution.com and some others... problem is, i dont post alot in any of them. i go by the same username in each one. theyre all ff or gaming forums. i couldnt really say which one is the best...ffnet.net is the friendliest. this site is the most mature(no spam, follows rules, etc.). eyesonff is a tad spamtastic, but i dont really mind. blootix revolution isnt as spamtastic as eyesonff, but its a little more mature than it. but yeah, i just cant be sucked into another forum site...its kind of becoming a chore This post has been edited by Zeromus_X on 30th October 2005 06:24 -------------------- |

A long time ago, I used to post on the TAP Anime forums, until they had server troubles,
I also used to post on a few FFXI guild websites, including The Calling and Velocity (after the Boundless Souls disaster). Unfortunatley I'm no longer a part of the Calling and Velocity has gone down the drain. -------------------- Neneko is Neneko because Neneko couldn't be Neneko if Neneko wasn't Neneko! --as quoted from Neneko, Mahoraba {Heartful Days} I can stab a man with a thick paperback book thru the ribcage. |

Since my last post,
Still frequent Gamefaqs, but not nearly as often as the summertime. Still a mod at hsquizbowl.org. Regular season's started up again, so I'm back in to writing for tournaments. No longer post at rpgdl, way too many annoying people and too many "which character is the best" crap. Started posting on Sanctuary of Strategy, great FE discussions and intelligent gamers there. I had used their image and map resources many times before, but only just decided to start posting there. I'm definitely only a casual member, though, not the postfiend that I am on CoN or hsqb. I'm also posting on the UVA Gamers Club website forums, but that's mostly consequential things like club practices and presentation discussions. Every week one person gives a presentation on a certain topic about video games and another person gives a presentation on a game that they believe to be one of the greatest games of all time. -------------------- |

I'm a frequent poster at www.ev-nova.net, I used to offer programming help in blizzhackers but it got shutdown by Blizzard because someone made a hack for World of Warcraft and Blizzard didn't like it. Most of the people on the forum were noobs (looking for uber hax sigh), so I stopped going long before it got shutdown cause of the overflow of people who were clueless.
I also post on the imdb forums at times (probably in the Advent Children section, which is huge). I also posted a few on www.ff7ac.net. Anyone here on www.somethingawful.com, there has to be at least one person here who was or is in the somethingawful forums. Those forums are huge. Yea, cavesofnarshe is probably one of the nicer forums I've been to, mainly cause it isn't as elitist as so many other forums. I've been to forums there the only people posting are those who were there for three years, and new members who try to post on those boards get tired of those whiny wusbags for simple things such as "double posting" and "posting irrelevant material", although the "posting irrelevant material" is used just as a way to ignore people who are new. This is probably why the forum has about 5,000 people who joined and about 30-40 people who actually still post. Also yea, I finally read some entries here, there are goons here This post has been edited by byblos on 18th November 2005 01:05 -------------------- Who is Byblos? |

I usually frequent some gaming forums but they are mainly Spanish speaking forums :
-RPGMakerXP (the forum where I am most active...currently offline) -Hellsoft -Cinescape (a forum about movies, it's the official forum of the best movie related TV show in my country) I also used to frequent the Nuklear Power forum but there has been problems with my accounts so I only watch, I don't post: -Serebii (a forum about pokemon games...I no longer use it, but it had a nice community) -Soul Calibur 3 ( a Soul Calibur related forum, I rarely post) -GameFaqs (Again, problems with my account) -------------------- x_X |

I haven't posted in this thread since 2003. >_>
I stopped going to Shinraonline because I concluded that I was, somehow, a more serious artist than most of them were - I got ignored because I wasn't drawing manga. That, and too many of them were pretty immature when it came right down to it. I still go to FFG, but it's become really slow and mostly boring. I think there's been one post in the two forums that cover FF1-6 since before Christmas. Still some good people there, though. I post at DeviantArt when I have time, but it's not very user friendly and that takes a lot of the fun out of it. I think that's about it. I put out some feelers at GFAQs for some information a couple weeks back, but they've been completely useless so far. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Oh wow, so much has changed since I last posted here.
Well, obviously, I still post here at Caves of Narshe. Around 2009, I joined TV Tropes, as a wiki contributor and as a member of their first forum. Then someone hacked the forum and the head admin decided to build his own custom forum using the PMWiki codebase, from scratch. Well, he largely succeeded, and that's the current TV Tropes forum, which I also joined. At first, I was very heavily invested in TVT wiki policy issues. I became heavily involved in article rename debates and such. It got very tiring, very quickly, so I extricated myself. I still post there, but usually only a few specific threads that I've bookmarked. Not to mention that the site's undergone some policy changes that I don't quite agree with -- and that includes changes both from on high and from the sentiment of the userbase. In short, I would have liked to see a great deal more formality, maturity, and comprehensiveness, but these were not to be the case. One of the subforums at TVTF spun off into its own site in 2011, and I was asked to become an admin, which I accepted. The It Just Bugs Me forum has evolved quite a bit from its roots -- while it used to be about complaining about things in general, it's since become a relaxed environment for low-key but nevertheless intensively thoughtful media discussions. You're all invited to check it out and apply to join it (we still do that because of spammers). I happened to have startd a thread on TVTF dedicated to shitposting, called "The Trash Heap of the TV Tropes Forum", mostly to help quarantine shitposting so that it could continue to exist but wouldn't disturb other threads. The thread I created later spun off into its own forum as well, called Heapers' Hangout, which I've joined (a few months after IJBM I think). This is a much more informal community with lots of nonsensical and humorous posts. IJBM and HH are sometimes seen as sibling forums. The large-scale disagreements among the TVT userbase with TVT site policy also spawned a third spin-off forum, called Beyond the Lampshade, which has in the past been very vocally critical of TVT (much more than IJBM and HH have). It's gone through a few incarnations and I think I may have been a member at some point. I haven't been following them so I don't know what they're up to these days, though I remember hearing someone was trying (for the nth time, alas) to start an alternative wiki for tropes in creative work. ---- Apart from TVT-related stuff, I've recently joined the Carpe Fulgur forums. As you may know, Carpe Fulgur is a U.S. localization team specializing in Japanese indie games, most famous for Recettear: an Item Shop's Tale. They've been working on an undisclosed "Project 4" for a while, rumored to be a collab with XSEED (hence the undisclosed nature), so I joined trying to get info on that. In the wait for news on Project 4, we've ended up having various discussions about Japanese indie games and indie games inspired by these that aren't Japanese themselves. Also joined the xkcd and Brawl in the Family forums to comment on a few comics. I haven't had much activity in these places though. Have also been a little active on the Steam users' forums (a.k.a. SPUF), though not much apart from a few select threads. 2. Nsider2. Which is basically a Nintendo forums 3. Neoseeker. Little bit of everything forum but mostly video games. 4. Gamespot. I go there when I am bored. 5. AdminZone. Which is a forum for people who run forums and how to do it correctly. I use to go to many FF forums back in the day, but this is the only one right now.
