w00t He had such a way with things...damn he was badass. Edit Sorry, just realized I had already put my opinion on this topic. Ah, well...I expanded on it. Delita, of course he may be a backstabber but who cannot admire a guy that went from a peasant to a king?

My vote goes to thundergod C.I.D... for a a few reasons.
1: He is old as dirt and still can put the smack down 2: When he joins your party you get the best sword without havin to steal or work for it. 3: He is honorable. He never did anything corrupt as far as I can tell. 4: He knew about the power of the stones and didn't tell anyone. He said something along the lines of "They don't know, but they'll find out, then there will be real war." -------------------- To steal ideas from one person is plagiarism; to steal from many is research. - Steven Wright It doesn't matter what temperature the room is, it's always room temperature http://ogame.org cool online galactic empire game |

I have to go with Ramza for this, and not simply because he is the main caracter. The reason I vote for Ramza is because of what a caharacter observes about him in chapter three before you make it to 'a castle' (placed that way for vaugness) after the battle at 'a fort'
He can't let and injustice pass unnoticed. Ramza is the only truly noble character in the entire game. -------------------- I fel into a burning ring of fire. Let us see...I will drop some names and tell yous people why I like them.
Agrias: Tough, yet, vulnerable, and definitely no nonsense. She is undyingly loyal and trusts her own intstincts. Her skills are great and she makes a good priest. Gafgarion: The cold, heartless mercenary who, seemingly, has grown something of an attachment to Ramza...some kinda messed up father-son thing. But that duality makes him interesting. That and his character design is tres cool. Delita: He's got to be the most textured and fully realized character that I have ever seen in an FF game. He's enigmatic, crafty and quick to sniff out his best opportunities...Delita under all of this is also capable of love (there was something going on between hiim and Ovelia, and ofcourse his love for Teta, his ill-fated sister. Olan: He's scholarly, brave, adventurous and compassionate. He is one of the few who can see Ramza's side of things. And the scene when he's trying to get that message to Ovelia is excellent. And galaxy stop is friggin' milk! (milk: my experimental replacement for cool). I do think Agrias is my favorite but it's hard to choose. ![]() -------------------- "You broke my f***ing sitar, mother f***er." -Anton A. after finally learning what brave does to your characters I've changed my mind
Beowulf all the way i've always loved his temple knight skills but since he has a naturally high PA if you up his brave to around 80+ he can rock anybody even cid in a 1 on 1 match all it would take is two actions Don't Act Attack and it's bye bye Orlandu (i don't think they would really get in a fight, but i'm not kidding when i say beowulf is powerful he's better than both ramza and orlandu as a monk) close second is now cloud and cid and then ramza and Reis but beowulf definately my favorite -------------------- "Have you ever seen a baby do that before?" |

Hmm Rofel, I'd say hes one of my favorite characters cause hes such a bastard for sending the whole party to Murond (AKA Holy Hell).
Also cause the first time I seen his name, it reminded me of ROFL. Kinda reminded me of the Anime dude grinning in the rain in Malcolm in the Middle. Rofel ? Shiogami -------------------- Who is Byblos? |

I guess I've played the game enough times to develop an opinion here...
Gafgarion: 1. He's a badass on the battlefield, even w/o T.G. Cid's insane power. 2. His job class (dark knight) fits his casually devious personality perfectly. 3. I like his armor; ontop of his abilities as a dark knight, the armor makes him doubly intimidating. Heck, even the flamboyance of the fur was a neat touch, I think. 4. I don't know what it is about his name, but it's probably me favorite name in the whole FF series. -------------------- |

I haven't yet finished the game (dang I'm slow) but I'd have to say that my favorite is Mustadio. His Snipe skills are a pain in the [you-know-what] for the enemies to cope with, not to mention that he is one of the hottest guys in the game, IMHO.
![]() My second favorite would be a tie between Delita and Teta. Teta because I can feel her pain, how she was always being teased by kids at her chool. I also always get picked on, though not just for the same reason as Teta. Delita I like because of his cgaracter. He starts of as a pure genius that seems to know everything (he is also rather fragile when it comes to his sister) then turns around to become a manipulative survivor... and plus, he was an awesome liar! ![]() -------------------- "No matter what happens, I will always be with you... forever." ---- Pocahontas, Pocahontas "Only those who are already at the top are rewarded without trying."----- Delita Hyral, Final Fantasy Tactics http://www.ffshrine.org/fft/fft-midi/1-42-back_fire01.mid ---- My favorite FFT battle song |

I dont think that its about "whos the best character" its really about whos your favorite character. Im not saying this is true but I bet that88-89% of the posts were saying that they had a favorite instead of a best.
But the best character was a villian w/ blond hair in the begining of the game. but i sort of uh, um forgot his name. can anyone remember his name for me |

My favorite characters in Tactics are Delita and Dycedarg plot-wise, and Orlandu and Elmdor for gameplay and awesomeness reasons. The best characters in the game, based on ability to kick ass within the game while being possible permanent party members without the use of a Gameshark are Orlandu, Beowulf, Reis, and Ramza. You can make an argument for any of those four, but pretty much not anyone else. -------------------- |

Mustadio.
I like that the scenes featuring him are fun and upbeat. They contrast well to the story as a whole. I laughed out loud when Ramza activated the robot and it beat Mustadio up. And... being a sniper is pretty fun. I love tormenting an enemy by seeing how many concurrent negative status effects I can put on it. Take Mustadio and Beowulf and laugh at the berzerk, blind, poisoned, silenced, slowed, stat-broken, equipment-stolen, undead, no moving, no acting chicken in the corner of a map. Miluda is the Death Corps Knight (Weigraf's sister) you kill in Chapter One before your first battle against Weigraf. The Divine Knight is Meliadoul. Just thought I'd clear that up for ya'.
