With so many great ones that have come and gone and have come back again, I'll just narrow it down to the Monkees, Pink Floyd, and the Rolling Stones. John Lennon, however, will always stand as my favorite musician.

I listen to a pretty sick variety of music, but there is one group that will always be my all-time favorite.

The Blue Man Group

I sort of hesitate to call them a band, "music group" is probably the better term. Their music ranges from somewhat derivative rock to interesting electronica, but always features truly original and unique instrumentation and absolutely rock-solid grooves and progressions; these guys aren't just a street group, they're classically trained musicians (mostly percussionists) that decided to start a bizarre street group. You haven't lived until you've seen one of their live performances (Pipes is better than The Rock Tour, but they're both great), and it isn't such a bad idea to try out one of their albums, either (there's Audio, which covers Pipes, and The Complex, which covers The Rock Tour).

What about not listening to rap makes you speculate that a person is racist? Just because the board is predominantly rock, in some form or another, should not call into concern that we look down on other races, religions, et. al. Even if that question was meant in a joking manner, it was a bit distasteful.

Besides, there's color in rock too. Living Colour, King's X, POD, Funkadelic, early Local H, Dave Matthews Band, Rage Against the Machine.

(Apologies for going semi-off topic)

Hey, I listen to rap/hip-hop as well, like Jurassic 5, Geto Boys, Run-D.M.C., But I don't listen to the new rap (50 Cent, Kanye West,etc) I just don't get into it anymore. Some of my favorite rap/hip-hop bands include, Jurassic 5, Geto Boys, Beastie Boys, Black Eyed Peas, Outkast, Jay-Z.Then theres rap/rock like, Rage Against The Machine, Gorillaz, Linkin Park. And what Sabin said, just because a lot of the members listen rock doesn't mean we're racist, we just have different tastes in music that's all.

I haven't really updated my list in quite a while so;

Of the bands I've gotten into since the last time writing this, I've noticed something. I grew almost entirely out of my "strictly metal" phase and started listening to a nice flow of other things.

The Mars Volta, Moving Units, M.I.A., Dredg, Explosions In The Sky, Godspeed You! Black Emporer, Mogwai, a lot more Bjork, a lot more of The Cure, The Police, Radiohead, At The Drive In, H.I.M, Boys Night Out, Head Automatica and so on.

Of course, I'm still very much rock oriented, though I have been listening to the occasional rap track. I can honestly say that I enjoy 50 Cent, though it makes me laugh from time to time.

I've gotten very attached to the hardcore movement in music, bands like The Bled, As I Lay Dying, Between The Buried And Me, Underoath, Hopesfall, It Dies Today, From Autumn To Ashes, Norma Jean, The Chariot, Bleeding Through, Summer's End, The Gorgeous and such have been added to the list of favorites.

That's about it for now though.
