I *might* consider switching out Kain for Sabin. MIGHT.

Other than that one player, I still think this would be my heavy hitters list to end all heavy hitters lists. thumbup.gif

Due to my fondness for enemies, here is what I think would be the perfect FF villain party!

Garland/Chaos: One leader is always qualified and with the inflated egos of most baddies, the one chosen leader would be the boss of the first FF game!

Altima: Considering Altima's role in FFT as the revived St. Ajora with the Lucavi followers, I think Altima would be the perfect number 2 villain under Chaos. Plus, with Grand Cross and All-Altima you can't go wrong.

Kefka: The perfect FF villain party wouldn't be complete without a powerful lunatic driven incessantly on destruction.

Sephiroth: What could I say? The One-Winged Angel and Kefka side-by-side would make an unstoppable combination.

Kuja: I couldn't forgive myself if I had a villain party w/out adding my favorite one to round it out. A Red Mage for healing and support as well as powerful Flare Stars to whipe out the opposition including a devastating Ultima spell that eliminates all.

There you have it. If these five co-existed to take over as a group, this one would definately be it!

My perfect party would include:

Setzer- Slot and he's my favorite character (upped his M. Pow. alot)

Terra- Has good M. Pow. even when you don't give her esper upgrades

Rydia- Can summon AND use black magic.

Sabin- Good physical attacks andd Blitz techniques

Kain- Good physical attacks, can jump to avoid alot of taken damage and I would have him equipped with the best lance (I think it's called, Abel Lance) since it sometimes casts tornado.

I haven't seen a good one yet so...

1. Kain (ffIV) - By far the best FF character to date, what a badass.

2. Shadow (ffVI) - Edge was a prick, the man in black is an improvement. Plus you can't take him for granted.

3. Red XIII (ffVII) - Best one in that game, i like the flips.

4. Tristam (ff MQ) - Bad game, Cool stars / bombs. Plus he ends up with that claw...

5. FuSoYa (ffIV) - He's from the moon. And he beats down everyone.

Male Party
1. Zidane: I want someone happy, not some emo. also, bonus points for his trance uberness.
2. Sabin: Pure damage, possibly the most powerful character in an FF game. I mean come on, even plotwise the guy is capable of lifting a house.
3. Vivi: I love the little guy, and he's got to be one of the deepest characters to grace a Square Game
4. Cid(FF7): The token VII character, one of four who don't instill an instant surge of hatred from me. His swearing is amusesing.
5.Shadow: Edge is preferable, but Interceptor only comes with Shadow, so..., I want the dog. his awesome theme music is a plus

Female Party:
1.Faris: Ninja-Pirates>You
2.Refia: sure, her game isn't actually released yet, but come on, it's the Real FF3, and she's a female party member. also, I like her hair
3.Terra: no need to say why. She's Terra. she is Half Esper. thats more Esper than most of you.
4.Celes: Go Runic
5. Freya: Dragoon. I like her theme. usefull trance. Six Dragons phails. oh well.

Unknown Party
1. Quina: best blue mage concept EVAR. plus s/he will eat your soul.
2. Gogo: for being an enigma wrapped in a puzzle, surrounded by a mystery.
3-5: <insert FF1 Party member here>

Party For Suicide Missions (least likely to survive)
1. Cloud: Over-rated PoS Character from an over-rated game. He's cool in AC though, so meh
2. Cyan: great skill idea, totally fails to deliver.
3. Edward (pre advance lunar ruins, after which he ceases phailing): your spoonyness is awesome, but your skills fail.
4. Aeris: for dieing on us, further inflateing VII's reputation
5. Rinoa: I just dislike her.

How in the HELL can you justify Edward on a "brave" team? Are you trying to be funny, because that doesn't make any sense any other way. rolleyes.gif

Really? I've seen several very, very good setups listed in here... Most of which would own the setup you provided. Kane, myself, FabulousFreebird, and Baralai888's setups come immediatley to mind.

I know there's a topic like this in the FFVI forum, but if you could choose a team out of all the characters from the Final Fantasy series, who would you choose? I would personally choose Sabin(ffvi), Edgar(ffvi), Cloud(ffvii), and Tidus(ffx), with Cecil(ffiv) as an alternate, but who would you choose?

I'd want to balance my team out so that it would leave nothing to be desired and I'd be ready to handle any combat situation. Since it's from any FF game, that applies a lot of variety and range, I'll try to keep it short and sweet.

Kain (FFIV) His dragoon skills are useful for dodging heavy hitting enemy attacks, do decent amounts of damage and he's great at on the floor combat. Definitely capable of holding his own in any fight.

Shadow (FFVI) This guy is a sneaky peice of work. Fast when it comes to attacking, reasonably powerful, able to evade given the right equipment and certainly capable of taking a beating. He's also able to throw items for ridiculous amounts of damage which is handy.

Celes (FFVI) Versatility is key. Celes isn't the strongest warrior, but her ability to equip heavy armors and use swords deals a reasonable amount of damage and allows her to handle taking damage. Her magical abilities, while not as powerful as most other Final Fantasy magic users, is good enough to do the needed damage in a fight. A great switch between magical and physical damage. Her Runic abilities also come in nicely for those magical battles, I can't begin to describe how useful it was for me in all my FFVI playthroughs.

White Mage (Final Fantasy I) Basically all that I need now is a dedicated healer, white magic users. I figure, I don't want gritty personality and I don't really need special abilities to factor in with this character, I just want someone who can cast the white magic spells needed to keep my characters going strong and status effect free. White Mage is all about that.

As a sideline character, I'd probably include Rydia for Summon power, as Summons are always a useful magic to have...though I wouldn't take her off the bench unless I absolutely needed to.

I came into this topic expecting which development team was the best (see Chrono Trigger's Dream Team). And since I found a repeat of an old topic, I hope you don't mind changing the topic so the creator doesn't have to feel embarassed with a locked topic?

Anyway I'd have to say the FFIV team was the best. -CSM

Hrm, it seems that by unspoken convention, the party size is four, although some games use three or five. So I'll stick to that.

Yuna (FFX) - She has the healing/defensive white magic, and the offense of the aeons. Plus, I always teach Yuna Ultima courtesy of a Black Magic sphere. tongue.gif

Amarant (FFIX) - The power of a warrior, and free MP for the party courtesy of Chakra. I abuse that poor skill every time I play the game.

Celes (FFVI) - As noted elsewhere, she does it all, and she does it all well, not just mediocre like a lot of hybrid characters.

Locke (FFVI) - Somebody has to steal/mug the rare items, and he's my favorite one to do it. Besides, he and Celes would miss each other anyway.

I doesn't matter how big the party is, but I would say about 1-5. Plus, that topic was posted six monthes ago, I wouldn't have even known about it if you wouldn't have had it on your post.

That's what the search function is for. We generally don't mind people bringing old threads back from the dead, but only if they are genuinely interested in reviving the topic and have a worthwhile comment to contribute. One of the mods or admins will probably merge this thread into the previous one when they find a spare moment.

And by the way, my answer is still the same as it was in the first topic. Four FF III Onion Knights with all-Onion equipment, backed up by FF X Yuna with a maxed Sphere Grid and full stat boosts on each and every summon. No one's touching that ****.

Oh, cool.

Auron (FFX), Strago (FFVI), Shadow (FFVI) and Cait Sith (FFVII)

Agrias (FFT) and Locke (FFVI) as alternates.

I believe that this is a swell balance of physical damage and magic power (plus Strago rocking the blue magic) and I can throw in Locke if anything needs to be strategically yoinked from an enemy.

I honestly think we need to get a policy on when it's okay to bump topics and when a new one should be created. Forums never seem to have this sort of policy, and there are always discrepencies.

My FF dream team would be my villain party of Chaos, Altima, Kefka, Sephiroth, and Kuja I posted in the aforementioned thread.

If it was down to just four, then I'd omit Sephiroth.

Yuna - The strongest Character in Final Fanatsy so far, just summon the Aeons and pound away. White Mage!

Cloud - The attacker of the group, so many other fighters could take his place, but beacuse of what we know about him I feel out of respect I should choose him. Attacker!

Vivi - Black mage with Strong spells, gotta balance the team. Blk Mage!

Zidane - Speed and stealer, the bosser always carry good items worth stealing. Attacker!

I'd choose.

Lock (ff6) He's a badass thief who use's swords, what more can you ask for?
Vincent (ff7) My favorite ff7 character, so i can't leave him out.
Sabin (ff6) Sweet skills and overall power.
Beowulf (fft) With the right skill-set he can make it any enemy useless.

This one is so hard! A really cool team (and the one I would drool over) would be:

Edgar
Zidane
Kain
Cloud
Bartz

They're all my favourite guys and I'd have to make sure to give Cloud a healing materia and Edgar a healing Esper. I'm afraid I couldn't have a team without any one of them in it.
