Had to dig up this old thread because I was inspired by the old AOL message board talk.
Stragolves was a friend of mine on the Gamewiz AOL message boards back in the day. Well, as much of a "friend" as anyone can be over the internet, having never met them IRL. I always thought his name was short for "Stragoloves" until he told me it was short for "Stragolives," a variant of his original screen name, "Kefkalives." I always thought that name was awesome. When I signed up for Caves of Narshe, I really intended to only make one post, talking about how I'd beaten Vargas and Ultros without using pummel or sketch (then Djibriel totally pwned me on the Vargas claim, but it's all good). Anyway, "Kefkalives" immediately came to mind, and I used it as sort of a silent tribue to Stragolves, whom I lost touch with when I stopped frequenting the Gamewiz boards, which AOL eventually shut down. I really only thought I'd make one, two posts tops, before leaving this place. But I found CoN interesting enough that I decided to stick around. Had I known I would stick around longer, I probably would have thought of something more original (like "ShadowLives", lol). But, well, too late to turn back now. I can only hope Stragolves/Kefkalives makes his way here one day, and, after recognizing the SN ![]() This post has been edited by KefkaLives on 14th May 2005 01:38 |

*steals answer he gave on the xRO forums*
Perigryn Started out as the name for a little comic made in Grade 8. I then went to join Hotmail around that time and wanted to my name to be 'Peregrine' in reference to the falcon, but that was taken. So, I opted for the differed spelling of Perigryn. And since then, I've used it for everything I need a username for on the net. -------------------- Games on the Go Final Fantasy VII Final Fantasy: Four Warriors of Light Baldur's Gate Too much to play, so little time! I just kinda came up with this name one day, thought it was funny, and I now use it for most of the online stuff I do (with the exceptions of Warcraft 3 and Heros of Ivalice)

When I first was opening an e-mail account with Yahoo (bout seven or eight years ago, I think), I needed a name. My nickname at school was Bobcat (a combination of Bob, a nickname for Robert, and the fact I once ate a can of catfood on a dare), so I tried that, but taken. Next, I tried adding my day of birth, but bobcat13 was taken also, so the two zeros were added to make "bobcat0013".
A year or so later, I managed to sully my name on a few different gaming forums (and a helluva lot of spam mail in the days before filters), so I needed a new e-mail account. I was having a fascination with dragons at that time, but wanted to be somewhat recognizable to my friends, so I went with "bahamut0013", often shortened to bahamut or baha. NOTE: no capitol on the b is necessary. I'm occasionally seen as "the sniper bobcat" on some shooter games, or with an [AMF] tag for my clan (Amphibious Forces). I also sometimes game under aliases like "Dark Snake" or "Metal Snake". I also sometimes use my ne real life nickname, "Ski" (since everyone butchers Lemiszki pretty bad), as is common for people with names of Polish or Russian (I'm the latter) descent. Traditionally, my surname was spelled Lemiszky, but my dad said that his grandfather's papers were misspelled when he became an American citizen (just before WWI). Every once in a while, I will go with my mother's maiden name, Bradford (more for annonymity in real life than on the net). -------------------- |

Divineknight, Think FFT. Now think Meliadoul. My favorite character of the game. (Too bad shes so incredibly useless) I would have prefered her with Agries style attacks or something. There was no Meliadoul Avatar:( so I stuck with a the regular knight on this one.

I think I may have posted here alredy, but I am too lazy to look through all the pages.
Anyways, Kilakandra_DiMenia is a character in a book I am currently writing. The underscore is just there because I didn't think that the forums let you have spaces in your screen name. I'm used to the scary message box that says "Sorry, your name can only contain letters, numbers, or underscore. Please try again." Grrrr.... On other forums, I'm either LeoGirl90 or MagessCourtney. LeoGirl90 is simple. I'm a Leo, I'm a girl, and my birthdate was in 1990. ![]() There are also two other forums I'm on. On those I'm either Joey Fanatic or Joey's Girlfriend. As you may guess, Joey Wheeler from Yu-Gi-Oh is my favorite character, so... there ya go. -------------------- "No matter what happens, I will always be with you... forever." ---- Pocahontas, Pocahontas "Only those who are already at the top are rewarded without trying."----- Delita Hyral, Final Fantasy Tactics http://www.ffshrine.org/fft/fft-midi/1-42-back_fire01.mid ---- My favorite FFT battle song |

My name is derived from my all-time favorite pro wrestling groups who were amidst retirement while growing up as a fan who followed professional wrestling religiously, the Fabulous Freebirds. Original members: Michael "P.S." Hayes, Buddy Jack Roberts, and Terry "Bam Bam" Gordy. While watching wrestling before they retired: Micheal Hayes and Jimmy "Jam" Garvin. Hayes is my personal favorite wrestler of all time!
Also Lynyrd Skynyrd's "Freebird" is my all-time favorite song (second to Bob Segar's "Turn The Page" and anything from John Lennon) and the lyrics of "Freebird" remind me so much of myself and my life, I can't help but sing and dance EVERYTIME I hear it. If I have a say-so, that will be my wedding song. This post has been edited by FabulousFreebird on 22nd May 2005 11:52 -------------------- "Thought I was dead, eh? Not until I fulfill my dream!" I like to make up odd, fantasy-style names, largely for characters in games that I play, but also for other fantasy-related ideas that I have come up with as diversions. Gots a whole list of original names now, that I do, some of which I recycle here and there. "Galsic" is probably one of me favorites.

When I first registered, I liked two characters from FFVI alot: Locke, and Celes...
So I called myself "Lockewithceles" because I wanted to register only as "Locke_Cole" but it has been taken already. After a while, I didn't like the name much anymore and decided to change it eversince I beat Final Fantasy V for the second time. I can't help it, "NeoEx-Death" is incredibly cool. Moderator Edit Yeah, and I believe you got warned for it because we don't allow users to have multiple accounts. ![]() This post has been edited by Rangers51 on 3rd November 2005 15:57 |

I chose Jenny just because my name is Jenn, but everywhere i go Jenn is taken. So usually I do this, or add another word to the beginning, like OrcaJenn [love killer whales] or KillerJenn, but that's rare. I've taken a liking to Jenny because sometimes my friends call me that, mostly to be cute. Yep, I'm really that boring.

Strikerbolt
That goes back quite a ways. When I first got Internet access, I was into electrical stuff and lightning. So, its stuck ever since then. At least, for forum stuff. Nowadays, I'm using Jagaza, Jagazua, and Jagazen for D&D and character names. In my mind, Jagaza represents the warrior/paladin/etc. and of good alignment, Jagazen represents the Thief/Assassin/Ninja/etc. of the Evil alignment, and Jagazua represents Sorcerer/Mage/etc. of Neutral Alignments. Also, Jagaza and Jagazen are of Law, and Jagazua are of chaos. -------------------- Neneko is Neneko because Neneko couldn't be Neneko if Neneko wasn't Neneko! --as quoted from Neneko, Mahoraba {Heartful Days} I can stab a man with a thick paperback book thru the ribcage. |

Couldn't find any topics like this, or I'm too dumb to use the search feature correctly. Either way, if there is one, I apologize to the mods in advance for having to merge it.
I was wonderin what some of you guys based your Screen names on. As for me, Nytecrawla is too easy, I kinda just used my old name from my rhymin days. Back then Nightcrawler was an x-men god, and it was a natural choice. As far as other names go, I have used Dragmek~ a dragon mecha obviously. Goldskinnedpoet~ Self explanatory, a poet with gold skin Wolfen13~based on one of my favorite books witha random number added on to it Kirzah~ a character I created for an RPG Maker game years ago Kaiza~a variation on the german Kaiser or King -------------------- This is a webcomic and gaming blog where I rant about nonsense. Wow. Ok, I just spent like 15 minutes looking through all the old threads in this forum (to avoid my "Yea, there was a thread like that awhile ago but I'm too lazy to look for it" answer); I finally found one with like 4 posts that was closed by R51 who said something along the lines of "Lilly posted a similar thread earlier". So I did a search for her and searched through EVERY ONE OF HER POSTS to try and find the thread, but I couldn't. So if there was a thread like before, I don't blame you for not finding it.
![]() Anyways, as for my name, I chose it for a variety of reasons. Firstly, my last name literally means "of Caesar" and most everybody in my family possesses the traits indicative of Caesar's family (blue/grey eyes, hairy, etc). Secondly, I have a natural affinity and talent for Latin, and, like most Latin scholars, appreciate everything Caesar did for Rome. Thirdly, Caesar is a title of greatness and majesty (like King, and Czar, among others), so I thought it'd be cool. There are a few other reasons, but that should be enough to answer the question. ![]() -------------------- Is PJ |

alphasmart is the brand name of a kind of little laptop thing, basically a keyboard with a 4x40 character screen, which I use due to having dyspraxia and thus poor handwriting. Typically it's my screenname throughout the internet (sometimes it's alphasmart3000, the specific model of laptop, on the off chance alphasmart is somehow taken) so if you see someone called alphasmart, it's probably me.
Also, further to Caesar's post, Caesar actually has more greatness and majesty than you think as names like Czar and Kaiser are actually derived from it ![]() Edit oh, apparently I have posted earlier, oh well.
