Hmm I don't even know if I'm spelling his name right. Oh well. Anyway, I think the best way to kill him is to have Gau in your party and cast the rage that causes him to attack himself. It's a semi-secret rage and I can't remember it's name.

Make sure everyone has Life 3 avaliable and cast that to themselves.

One funny thing to is have Relm in your party use control on Kefka and make him cast Ultima on himself.

O.K. I was cheap.

I would use the Relm glitch until I had 4 Economizers and Gem boxes, then get 4 high level magic users that have Ultima, then I would cast 8 Ultimas in a round for only 8 MP.  That way took only 4 - 5 turns to kill him.

I used the Fixed Dice-Offering-Genji Glove combo, Kefka didn't had a chance to take a break....he was killed in less than a turn....

Not to sound vicious, but this topic's a sham.  There is no best way to kill Kefka.  He's like a Reeses Peanut Butter Cup, there's just no wrong way to go about it.

Personally, I never did anything glitchy.  I just had my characters learn most, if not all the magics, took on the tier and when I finally reached the top, just attacked and used a mega-elixer when he used Fallen Down.  Sucka took three turns to die, but I never tried to make an unnecessary challenge out of him anyway.

In fact, has anyone ever had a problem beating him?

Kefka is the easiest last boss ever. Genji Glove/Offering is pretty quick. Have people cast Ultima or throw Imp Halberds and he's gone very easily.

Yes

I had Cyan Quadra Slice, Edgar Chainsaw, Sabin Bum rush and Celes Runic. And that did kill him.

Yep...I used Umaro, Terra, Edgar and Sabin as my party (Strago and Relm as second inmediate choices), I just kept using Edgar's Drill or Ilumina, Sabin using Bum Rush, Terra using Atma Weapon or healing the party, and let Umaro attack...and that's it....quite simple....there's no need to cast black magic...

Final Fantasy VI has such a wide range of spells and abilities that the final battle is fairly easy.  The only real surprise tricks that Kefka has are the Fallen Angel and Light of Judgment, but in most cases (at least for me) he never lives long enough to use them.

I simply level my party of Terra, Shadow, Sabin, and Mog up to around 60 or so, and make sure they have each spell.  I'll usually make sure that Terra has the GemBox/Economizer and Mog has the Snow Muffler.  I have Terra cast Life3 on everyone immediately (for that annoying auto-death attack he uses right before his final form), then plug away with Ultima, Bum Rush, and various powerful Throw weapons (Imp Halberds and Heal Rods), all the while keeping my party's HP up.

If using Ultima and other such cheap magicks aren't on my agenda for some reason, then I work with Sabin's Blitzes, Shadow's Throws, Edgar's Tools, and Mog's healing until Kefka is toast.

Really, compared to some of the other battles in the game, Kefka isn't much of a challenge.  The music was cool, though.

Hmm... The first time through, I never really just wandered around and leveled up to the higher levels at all, so I had a rather interesting fight with him.

I basically had my two magic users (Terra and Celes) casting Ultima and curing the party while Sabin merely did his little thing with his Genji Glove/Offering attack. Mog was dancing his heart out (until a Chaos Wing took it out for him, thank God), so I had him be the handyman afterwards (curing, reviving, and using the occasional mid-level combat spell just for effects and entertainment).

heh heh, I think I had a little more fun in my final battle than everyone else  :E

I turned all my characters (Shadow, Sabin, Celes, and Mog) into Imps, equipped them with Imp Halberds and Titanium, no special relics or anything, made sure they had about 6,500 HP and several megalixirs for his final attacks.

I thought this method was way more fun than other combos, cuz this actually made it decently hard to beat him!

Honestly though, I think Kefka should have had about...1,500,000 HP, cuz simple combos such as Genji Glove/Offering/Atma Weapon (@ 9999HP) + Illumina which does about 40,000 to 80,000 damage per turn will kill him usually in one swipe!  Or Gem Box/Economizer/Quick is like 20,000 to 40,000 damage!  I mean, with a few combos like this it's far too easy to beat ANYTHING, hence the reason I use Imps!   8)

So anyway is a best way to kill him, he's way too easy!

Well...I had a team of Terra/Gogo (Cyan got thrashed by an instant-kill-attack-thingy just before)/Sabin/Shadow and hacked away. I wouldn't have lost anyone in this fight if Shadow hadn't..well...he threw a Heal Rod at himself (I'm a notorious quick-clicker) and killed himself with it. (Full HP's!)
Justa after that Kefka got The final Quadra slice and last three Ultima's (I love that spell!) and died. He's a wimp.

Oh yeah...

i ususally have locke, setzer, celes, and edgar/or gogo. locke with the genji glove with the atma weapon and excalabur and attack, setzer with gengi glove and offering with fixed dice and some dagger, celes with gem box and economizer casting ultima, and gogo mimicing celes or if i have edgar just attack with either his tools or pearl lance. that is about it.

The easiest way to kill him is with quick and a gembox, Cast life 3 on everyone in the party then blast him with Ultima. Use Megalixir when needed.

I used Terra with the Gem Box, a Gold Hairpin (I didn't have any Economizers), the Paladin Shield, and Ultima, Gogo wtih Magic, Lore, and Blitz (I had Locke with Genji Glove, Offering, Illumina, and Excalibur, but he died at the end of the last part before Kefka), Edgar with... well, all he had was Flare, actually... and Mog with... no attack spells past Bolt 3, so I used him to heal. He was easy. It took me a while (5-10 minutes or so), but he wasn't hard.

I like having Sabin go bum rush, Locke be general healer, and Celes use Runic and make things go boom with Gembox/Gold Hairpin/Ultima.  And then Gogo copies either the bum rush or the double Ultima.  Quick death.  Bastard's first attack on my version is ALWAYS Fallen One, though.

I've had to use some other parties, but I like this one best.  It was an average of level 50, wherein Celes and Sabin's levels were abnormally high and Gogo and Locke's were abnormally low.

I like continually casting ultimas.  But I know want to try fixed dice-offering-gengi glove.  Sounds cool.

I had Terra, Relm, Gau, and Relm. (though I would add Sabin for beam rush, huh?)
Relm had most of the good spells and she cast quick and X magic life 3 on my party, everyone else used magic or skills they had.
since Tyranosaur has Meteo, I let Gau use that rage.
If Umaro shows up in the fight, I cast Berserk on him to make his attack power even more powerful.

The strongest attacks there are.  That means Ultima, Ultima, and more Ultima.  Usually by the time I fight Kefka everybody has learned it.

Maybe next time I go through I'll try something else...

Fallen One was never much problem for me, since I always just made sure that I had a quick hand on a Megalixir.
