This is the perfect place for the Ultimate Strategy against those two "powerful" weapons even if I find them Extremely Weak.
Send your strategy here or just read if you do need help. If you post your own Strategy please Include Requirements and steps to kill the specified Weapon. Good Hunting! Here is Mine For RUBY Weapon: Quote (Minimal Requirements) Quadra Magic Materia ***** (4/5) Comet 2 Materia *** (2/3) (the two must be linked) Life Materia *** (1/3) W-Magic Materia ** (1/2) Strongest Character with multi hitting powerful Limit such as Highwind or Omnislash (must have 7677HP) Your two other characters must be dead Quote (Ownage Time) For a brief explanation, just use your limit on the tentacles, they should die. Use a Potion on yourself to lauch 64 attacks of 7777 dam each. Use W-Magic - Life (Character A Dead), Quadra Magic Comet 2 (Tentacles) [16x7777] Use W-Magic - Quadra Magic Comet 2 (Ruby), Quadra Magic Comet 2 (Ruby) [32x7777] Use W-Magic - Life (Character B Dead), Quadra Magic Comet 2 (Ruby) [16x7777] You should now notice Ruby will be red, shaking and slowly vanishing. That means it's dead. ![]() There you go he's dead and with this method he can't even kill you, he wastes his turn with his tentacles ahahha!!! Also you will get Full AP & Exp for all your charactes because you will have the time to revive them. Edit Updated for minor modifications For more Information Visit All Lucky 7s FAQ it's included there. It's not that I don't like Strategies CoN provides but... is KOTR really a solution to all this? HELL NO ![]() What about you guys? Found out anything good/worth a try? This post has been edited by Zodiac on 4th May 2005 23:33 -------------------- Sayonara |

Well, here's what I did for both weapons, and I took them down with very little trouble:
Quote Minimal Requirements -- Enough HP/MP Plus Materia to get you characters to maximum health and mp -- Knights of the Round paired with MP Turbo Materia; this adds 5 extra mp to the cost, but makes it hit for 9999 every shot, no matter what! It doesn't always do this for other Summons or Spells, but it does for KotR. -- Final Attack Materia paired with Phoenix on at least two party members; this way, if you die, you'll just come right back. -- W-Summon on the party member who will be casting KotR. -- Mime on all 3 party members; this means you only have to cast KotR once, and then you're done. -- Sprint Shoes on all party members; Auto-Haste is very helpful. -- Mystal Armor on all characters; for Ruby WEAPON, you'll definitely want high magic evade. Now, simply double-cast Knights of the Round with whoever had W-Summon/Knights of the Round/MP-Turbo and have everyone Mime it every turn after that. It's quite awesome ![]() By the way, I'm aware that Ruby counters KotR with Ultima, but if you equip the "Mystal" Armor, you'll dodge it roughly 60% of the time. Quote (Random Person @ 3rd May 2005 14:26) By the way, I'm aware that Ruby counters KotR with Ultima, but if you equip the "Mystal" Armor, you'll dodge it roughly 85% of the time. Sound strategy, I just felt like adding the real Magic Evade % you get from equipping the Mystile. 60%, not 85. Unless some mathematics wizards can prove me that having 60% chance for each of the three characters means having an 85% chance that one of them can survive, which I don't think it's true (but I quit mathematics 7 years ago, so I may be wrong). |

I think I posted my strategy earlier, on a different topic. If you follow my setup, you WILL defeat them, GARUNTEED.
Here are the requirements: -Cloud at at least level 50 -Everyone except Cloud DEAD -Cloud equipped with Ribbon -Any weapon/armor, as long as enough slots are present -HP and MP MAX (through HP/MP Pluses) -W-Summon -MASTERED Knights of the Round -MASTERED Counter (Not Counterattack, mind you) Materia -HP Absorb -Mime -Underwater Materia (recommened) Ok, so here is what you do. After you kill off your other party members, equip materia in the following order: -W-Summon anywhere -HP/MP Pluses anywhere -Knights of the Round paired to HP Absorb -Counter paired with Mime -Underwater anywhere Now, enter combat with either one (both have the same strategy). W-Summon KotR, and watch as Cloud does EVERTHING by himself. After each summoning of KotR, Cloud with gain back all his lost HP. After summoning, he will be attacked (if your HP is 9999, you will not die, unless you are like level 30), and then will counter with Mime, thus summoning KotR twice again, absorbing all the lost HP. It is truly fool-proof. Questions: Q:Won't Ultima kill Cloud after he summons? A: No. It will do around 7500 if you are level 50. Q: Can't Taft Air Storm kill you? A: Yes, only if Emerald uses it and you have enough Materia to the point where it would kill you. Realize that that attack's damage is based on how many materia are equipped. The ones I listed at the top are all you need. There you go. This is a sure-fire way to win against the toughest foes out there. Enjoy your Master Materia. -------------------- "Dance, water, dance!" -Demyx, Kingdom Hearts II "I met my love before I was born..." -AFI, 'Love Like Winter' from 'Decemberunderground' Currently Playing: Guitar Hero, Shadow of the Colossus |

I didn't actually know the real evade%, but for me, it seemed like I evaded it about 85% of the time, so that's what I based it off of. It's the best if you have plenty of time on your hands and you don't mind mastering all that materia.
I find it more fun for there to be a chance of losing the fight anyway. Easy = bad. Which is why the last boss battles in this game are so dissapointing, for so many people. See if you can take the weapons down on lowers levels, using skill. I will have to attempt beating the weapons, without using knights of the round. Should be fun. -------------------- 'Let that be a lesson to all oppressive vegetable sellers.' |

Beating Weapons without KOTR is really easy. It's already twice faster with No Materia against Emerald but it took me an Hour & half to defeat Ruby using only physical attacks & Maximized Omnislash which wasn't much powerful.
Still nothing can beat my technique against Ruby Weapon whatever level you are. I will have to modify the post later because I found a way to kill Ruby in 5 turns, 4 Materias, and Ruby will not have a chance to attack you. No Ruby Flame, Ultima or anything at all hahaha! ![]() No KOTR what's so good about it??? It takes 1:15 to Cast, Damn it! And if I must say it again, no mattter what FFVII isn't a challenge at all. There is always a way to defeat anything very easely. Well Except if you are going on a lowest level, no items, no materias, Initial Equipment Game... Know well the game and the rest is uhhh... okay, that was easy. No challenge at all! -------------------- Sayonara |

Nope not at all, it's just an altered way of the first on I gave (the first post) the only difference is that it allows you to have all characters alive to get the full amount of AP & Experience. Dazers are totally useless because Ruby is just playing with his tentacles...
That means you can sing: - It puts his tentacles in, It takes them back... It puts his tentacles in, It takes them back... It puts his tentacles in, It takes th... Oh woops it's dead already! ~Beating Emerald Weapon on Disc 2, without Knights of Round~
It's easier than you might think. There are many ways to do it, and although I was level 99 since the middle of disc 1, I'm sure it's possible at a lower level. Here's how ya do it. First off, have Cloud, Cait Sith or Yuffie, and someone else with a powerful limit in your party. My party setup: (Cloud, Cait Sith, Red XIII) ~General~ Have all your party members in fury mode, and above level 70 is preferred. If you can do it at level 30, good for you, but most people can't. Just take some extra time to work up before doing this, it's not that hard to get to level 70 on the second disc. ~Limits~ Limits play an important role in beating Emerald Weapon, as they are your only form of attacking in this battle. Cloud's Omnislash: This is what does the damage in this battle. You'll want to try and use it only after you have destroyed all of his little eye things, so he can focus the attacks on Emerald himself. Cait Sith's slots: The main combination you want is three stars, because that acts as a megalixir to all your party. Try not to get the three moogles because you might transform and that will ruin the whole thing. Also, if you get the three cat combo, you will kill him instantly (I beat Emerald without getting this.) Yuffie's Clear Tranquil: For healing in battle. Not as cool as the three stars in Slots, but it works every time, and if you use a few Hero Drinks on Yuffie it will heal for alot more. Red XIII's Cosmo Memory: This is useful for killing off the four eyes. It will always do 9999 damage to Emerald. However, I think if you have anyone with a high level limit it will do. ~Items~ Megalixirs - at least 4. Don't miss any of them in the game or you'll regret it. Only use megalixirs when your whole party is low on HP and Cait Sith isn't at his limit. Elixirs or X-Potions, for healing your party. There are monsters that drop X-Potions so they aren't that hard to acquire. Hero Drinks - 2 or 3 of them should suffice. Use them all on Cloud so he does 9999 damage with each hit with Omnislash. Phoenix Down's - One of your guys is gonna die in this battle, there's really little you can do to avoid it. For this, just revive them and keep on going. ~Materia~ HP Plus - one mastered on each person. If you're above level 70 or so, you will have 9999 HP or close to that. Speed Plus - 2 mastered on each person. You can get these at Battle Square in Gold Saucer for 12800 on disc 1, and less on disc 2. Just get 6 of them and boost them to master, it's not that hard. You're gonna want to be moving as fast as possible during the battle. Time Materia linked with All - On one person. Doesn't have to be leveled up at all, you only need to cast haste once on all your party members. Enemy Skill materia with the skill "White Wind" - For when you have some extra MP and need to heal up. It heals your entire party for how much HP you have left, so don't use it if the caster of White Wind has 700 HP left, instead use an X-Potion on this person and THEN use White Wind. Underwater Materia - For negating that darn 20 minute time limit. Note on Materia: Do NOT equip more than 8 pieces of materia on any one person. The Aire Tam Storm attack does damage 1111 times the amount of materia you have equipped. He will do 9999 damage if you have 9 or more materia equipped on one person. ~7 Fever~ All you gotta do is get the last two digits of your hp at 77 while the first two are below 77. You can do this by either materia configurations or getting hit during battle. When you do this, use potions on your character until he or she has 7777 HP. Do NOT run into any battles before Emerald Weapon after you do this! Your HP will go back down to 1 afterwards and you'll have to do it over again. The usefulness of 7 fever is astounding. It will take off nearly half of Emerald's HP at the very beginning of the battle. Unfortunately this only works at the beginning, because after 64 attacks you won't be going as fast anymore with the 7777 hits, and he will probably have attacked you by then. Not every single one of these steps are required in beating Emerald Weapon, for example, I did it without the 7 fever, and without Hero Drinks...but to make up for it, I was level 99 with all my guys. If you plan it out right, it will work, even if you forget a few steps. ~~Benefits~~ What can be better than having Master Summon in the middle of Disc 2? You can basically call off any challenge from here on out. Any challenges you thought you had during the Midgar raid, the last boss, or even Ruby Weapon, are now gone forever, due to the fact that you can now cast KotR unlimited times in battle without even getting a gold chocobo. You also get Master Command and Master Magic, so you can also mime KotR. Now, time to go get a gold chocobo, by killing Ruby Weapon. ![]() This post has been edited by LeviathanMist on 30th June 2005 20:35 |

RUBY WEAPON- kill off two members of your party (leave cloud alive). Give him:
Limit Break status (omnislash) Final Attack-pheonix hades Mime use hades to stop Ruby, then use omnislash (209979 Damage if at 9999 damage a hit). proceed to mime it a few times and ruby is done |

This is pretty easy.. all you have to do to beat emerald weapon is.. First get W-Summon and 2 mimes so that you can cast KotR twice with cloud then mime it on the others. If you cant do that then at least have the final attack-revive combination on as many of your characters as possible. After you have this combination hit emerald weapon with whatever you got, hopefully you have mastered your materia (this will help ALOT) Also have lots of Turbo Ethers if possible if you let emerald weapon get hits on you he can drain your MP rather quickly.
Now how to beat Ruby weapon.. Of course have the final attack-revive combination on as many characters as possible. Only attack ruby weapon when its claws are in the sand, when it does put its claws in the sand hit it with Quad Magic-Bahumat ZERO (dont use KotR because he will counter with ultima!) Also use a mime-neo bahumut combination to hit him with big damage. If any of your characters die have someone equipped with phoenix to use Life 2 on your party and hit him with fire. I hope my strategy helps you. -------------------- "To be forgotten is worst than death." Freya , FF9 "How do you prove that you exist...? Maybe we dont exist." Vivi, FF9 |

Not sure that everyone cares, but put mystile on all 3 party members with a 60% magic evade chance and you should have a 93.6% chance of at least one person dodging. Basically, its easiest to calculate the chances of all three missing, and then subtracting that probability

Emerald is really over-rated i found him really easy, equip final attack- phoenix and have 3 mime materia, (one on each character) it doesnt really matter what charaters you have then equip knights of the round (they have to be fairly strong) about 9000 damage per attack with W- summon
so then you go into the battle, straight away use 2x knights of the round then mime, mime, mime etc it gets really boring after awhile eventually, he will probably break up the chain after about 6 knights of the round or so, so i just use loads of omnislashes and catastrophies. beacuse you will have final attack he wont really be able to kill you off that easy. -------------------- Owzer: P... please... If you want to kill them easily, lucky seven fever works good for Emerald weapon, since his Aire Tam Storm follows this formula: 1111*Nº of materias you have allocated. You should go with only two HP plus materias allocated , so you can have 9999 HP. When Emerald cast Aire Tam Storm, he causes to you 2222 damage. That way you can have the 7777 HP needed for activing the Lucky Seven fever. Your character then will attack 64 times in a row, and its 7777 damage per hit.
Or you can manipulate your HP throught materias, before entering this battle , getting 7777 as your max HP, which its pretty hard to achieve. For Ruby, you should use Hades to Stop him, and then Knights of Round summon. If you don't have a golden chocobo its no problem, since you should defeat Emerald first, and then get the Master Materias from the man in Kalm. -------------------- "Its no cheating if you don't get caught" |

Well you got "Lucky Seven" fever, when your HP its 7777. ( which its almost improbable ). When you have 7777 HP, by any reason , Lucky seven is triggered. Also I'll ask you boys to spend a bit of time reading our FORUM RULES, because you both are spammy. Thanks.

for emerald:
equip counter and mime on Barret for each materia slot (use full, linked aweapon armour.) eg. Counter=Mime Counter=Mime Counter=Mime Counter=Mime Counter=Mime Counter=Mime Counter=Mime Counter=Mime mkae sure to have Angermax ready for him. when u go into battle, give him 2 hero drinks, and then fire off Angermax. Emerald will counter, and Barret will repeat Angermax a whole whack of times, basically turning emeraqld to dust. for Ruby, i cant remember what i did last time, but i got really lucky, cuz my materia sucked balls -------------------- "Everyone's on the ride of their life, for some it's just scarier than for others..."
