I just finished FFOrigins version of FF1. I ended up spending over 25 hours just roaming around the 4th floor of the Temple of Fiends (final dungeon) looking for that elusive Iron Golem. Yes it is there! Complete Perfect Normal version FF1 game saved. WOOHOO. I dont remember the IronGol being so rare on my NES. But I am very thankful that they remade this great game. It is very fun and true to the original.

Couple of notes.
1) I was reading the Trivia Thread and someone asked about the rarest enemy. Well, I think its fair to say that the Iron Golem is the rarest. Interesting story with Warmech. I arrived on Tiamat's floor, and walked straight to Tiamat and I encountered Warmech during my first pass. Well, he used Nuclear on me and then a physical atttack and killed one of my party members. I hadnt died up until that point, and I wanted to keep their xp the same for all party members, so I reloaded the Memo file. It then took me somewhere around 4 hours to 'find' him again. *sigh* I spent roughly the same amount of time looking for that darn Tyranosaur critter too. I must say the Iron Golem and the Tyranosaur fights were very unimpressive for the long wait I had to find them. If you are gonna make it that rare, give it some really cool special abilities, make them extra tough and put some work into the graphics for them. Easter eggs like that should be a treat to play and view.

2) I reopened the saved file. I seem to have unlocked the Pictures section. It has all the Pictures except 7. Do I need to complete another game to get those last 7 Pictures to appear? Is there something special that one needs to do next? or just solve the game again?

I think it involves beating the game on Normal and Easy. It's been a while since I've played Origins though. I remember just playing through the game (my brother and I) on Easy and Normal and we got all of them except for a Chaos picture. Which I think we got after beating the game.

On the other hand, not many people will be happy if they search for 25 hours for an enemy and then get absolutely destroyed. That would make me quit the game forever.

Perhaps make sure you're prepared before searching, and save before entering his territory. And if at first you dont succeed, hurl your GBA at the wall! (j/k!)
