Hey, I just broke out the ff3 again because it is possibly my favorite game(except street fighter 2), anyways, tore through the game pretty easy. then I decided to beat it with just celes, edgar and setzer so I didn't get anyone else and was able to do it with my chars at a mere level 50. Might try again, except without taking time to level, was just wondering what is the lowest level you guys have beat it on? what about if you only use setzer edgar and celes, then what's the lowest level?
cool to see people still talk about this game btw
anyways, thats all for now

First time I went through the tower I did it with most characters around level 42-45. I think I ended up with like... 2 people left on the final battle. Heavy use of ultima, cure3, and osmose got me through that one barely.

My party was in the high 30s - low 40s range when i beat Kefka. He's not that hard, but I had trouble with the statues leading up to him. Most of my party died before I even reached Kefka.

Early 50's, but usualy only lose one character do to that move the 1st to last boss does (the 2 targets) and instantly kills me, otwise Kefka is not that hard (I beat him to death with Ultima).

I heard it's possible to beat the game before hitting Level 20, so I imagine it can't be that difficult, no matter what level you're on.

Somewhere between 36 and 39. That's around the same level I beat most FFs once I've played them a few times. I just don't like getting over-powered, plus I'm impatient.

I think it was done at either level 7 or 8...I forgot which. I know it wasn't higher than level 8, though. I myself was around level 40 when I beat it the first time, I'm sure.

I was level 8.

It's dead easy when you've got the right stuff and have the proper amount of patience. A very high supply of ethers, megalixirs (ragnarok -> morph -> unlimited megalixirs!) phoenix downs, an economizer, and 128+ MDef settings will make the fight a tedious breeze.

Getting to Kefka is the hard part. The battle against the IAF was HARD: it was pretty difficult beating the flying enemies, then Ultros comes in with Chupon, along with that damned Tentacle move which can kill the entire party in one shot. Then comes the IAF, which usually DOES kill the entire party in one shot. Worse battle ever.

It's a lot easier than it sounds, though. Just very tedious (Rasp rasp rasp rasp raaassppp!!)

Level 35-37, with only one character in each of the three parties required to complete Kefka's tower.

Lineup was Sabin, Relm, and Shadow.

Did you by chance mix the final Kefka battle up with the Floating Continent section of the game here?

I very much doubt it, since the AIF part of the game is generally known as one of the hardest, not to say THE hardest, part of the game when playing a low-level one.

Although he probably did mean Air Force by that last IAF. I can only imagine how bad that battle must suck, I never had the patience to try a low-level one out any further than Ultros # 1

Indeed, Djibriel's got it.

Air Force kept finishing me off until I ended up getting REALLY lucky and landed an extra turn before it could kill me off. Not only is that fight VERY difficult, you have to deal with a bunch of other difficult fights where your entire party can be wiped out in one turn before that.

Afterwards, I had to deal with Atma. Since I had a wall-ring equipped on everyone, it was pretty easy. Relm had the heal rod equipped and Shadow kept tossing out phoenix downs when someone died, and the rest of my party, Relm included (I stopped healing when I realized it was pointless anyways wink.gif ) kept rasping Atma until he died.

Then came Nerapa: one lucky casting of doom and it was over. Hehe.

The tentacles were easy because of my wall rings; Edgar kept dying but everyone else was fine and the tentacles were almost all wiped out by reflected bio spells.

Then I fought that boss in the tomb (forgot its name): wall rings on everyone made it a real joke. I just sat there, let it cast spell after spell until it ran out of MP, then just used rasp once and the fight was over.

With the airship, I got Mog right away and the moogle charm, then loaded up on treasures, shortly hit MDef 128, and breezed through most of the rest of the game. Once you hit that point, it almost stops being a challenge since only area attacks can hurt your party. wink.gif

31-33. It took forever to get past the statues... and those stupid enemies you couldn't run away from in the tower. But Kefka was easy smile.gif

I beat that circus clown Kefka with Locke, Celes, Edgar, and Cyan around the late 40's-late 50's with an HP range around 4500-6000. Kefka was a bit hard.. Because his Chaos wing and his special attack that puts HP to 1 can be a bitch at times...
The statues was a bit bitchier than Kefka.. I hated the 3rd boss that uses Goner on a character before it dies... And Condemned I hate that too!

I have never gotten past level the 35-38 range in the game. The battle plan for Final Kefka was equip the best stuff I could think of and use ultima, cure three, life 2 and osmose. I also used bum rush and morph but that was all. Might be cheap but that's how I always did it.

probably mid 20's. It was a rush game. Used frame skip and wanted to see how fast i could beat it. Sometimes i go to like lvl 80 though. Its funny to see kefka die with two mighty Atma, Illumina, Offering combos.
