OR
The girl who has grey wings.

For anyone who recognizes this phrase, you know what I'm talking about, however, for most of you(the vast majority) this phrase refers to Haibane Renmei, and anime by Yoshitoshi ABe, the character designer of Serial Experiments Lain, which many of you may recognize or have seen.

This topic is for people who have seen it mainly, though anyone who wants to know about it is free to ask.

My general opinion (after seeing 3 episodes) of this anime is that it is just plain awesome wub.gif. I love the character designs, the Haibane especially have excellent detail on thier wings. I especially like the masks and intricate sign language of the traders (Tooga?) which is anicely animated when they are talking to the leader of the -I believe it is called- Charcol Feather Federation. One of my favorite sceens is when Rakka sprouts her wings. Though painful and bloody, I think that the entire sceen was well animated.

Also, I love the music (I own the sountrack, bought it before I started downloading the anime) it seems to me to be ethereal and haunting, though the various tracks have obvious differences - most notably to me Toga and Starting of the World, which are upbeat and cheerful. My favorite song on the soundtrack is LOVE WILL LIGHT THE WAY (Yes, it is supposed to be capitalized) which is slow, and hopeful.

So far, the storyline is great, I like how they incorporated how many of the Haibane got their names, via their cocoon dream.

Anyway, I have ranted enough thumbup.gif , please post your opinion of this anime, or your questions. Also, If I screwed up any of the names (Most notably the name of the traders and the federation representing the Haibane)
