I lost this in my saved links on Facebook weeks ago and just happened to re-find it.
https://www.destructoid.com/this-unofficial...ex-545086.phtml Obviously this won't ever become some kind of large-scale thing; even if Square weren't the cease-and-desist type, the complexity of the layout kind of makes it ungainly for expansion and especially mass-production. But you have to love how into it some FFT fans are! -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

Main issue with adaptations like this is that it's either "simplify the numbers" or "get a computer to do the calculations for you".
But holy crap that is impressive! -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. You can find me on the Fediverse! I use Mastodon, where I am @[email protected] ( https://sakurajima.moe/@glennmagusharvey ) |

Quote (Glenn Magus Harvey @ 17th May 2019 17:57) Main issue with adaptations like this is that it's either "simplify the numbers" or "get a computer to do the calculations for you". But holy crap that is impressive! I'm a million years late to this thread, somehow, but, yeah, the problem here is that you do have to simplify the math or get a computer to do it. Still, given their inspirations, I'm now wondering if anyone has done the inverse and hacked some of FFT's genius into the Warhammer universe. Like, those rules are already set up to run the simplified math of a tabletop wargame. |
