Aeris' theme during opera

Has anyone else noticed that the music playing when Celes first comes on stage sounds eerily similar to Aeris' theme from FF7? You kinda have to ignore the singing tones. For a second, I thought it was the same song.

I actually have found that other scores are similar with both games. rite now im actually bouncing between the two so its very noticeable

Yeah I noticed that too, it's kinda cool. I wonder whether Uematsu meant to do that? Perhaps he just liked it enough to use it again, or perfect it in his mind.
You could make it interesting and start drawing parallels between the opera's Maria and Aerith. Would that make Zack her Draco? I've never played Crisis Core... Other way around, but yes. For a long time it made me sad because I didn't like Aeris, but I love Celes.

Funny you say that, I'm playing FF7 at the moment, and just the other day, where ever I was in the game, the music had me humming the opera music from FF6.
