Help getting back to my airship.

So I'm between steps 19 & 20 in the walkthrough. I'm pretty much leveling my characters at the moment to learn magical spells and get Mog's dances. To get his water dance I decided to go back through the serpents trench. Well, that worked and I clicked the wrong button and hopped the ferry to South Figaro.

Can someone tell me the best way to get back to my airship by Crescent mountain now? If I go back through the mountain through the Returner's hideout, I'll just get back to the Lete river which would lead me back to Narshe, right? Is there a way to get back to the falls?

EDIT: Am I stuck? I thought that I might be so I saved to a new slot, but that'd still be an hour that I'd need to recoup. (Should've saved prior to entering Crescent Mountain)

If you go down Lethe river you end up by Gau's dads house not Narshe. the rest of this is pretty easy to figure out. Have fun!

Can't you just take a ferry from South Figaro back to Nikeah? I thought they had ferries going both ways...

I'm not sure about the Ferry. When I arrived, I was conveniently stuffed in a treasure chest, released along side the town and when I had control I was at the world map.

Does the Serpent's trench go both ways?

I went back through the Lethe river. Useful for gaining XP/MP along the way and learning new spells. Cyan's proving useful with a Black Belt/Genji Gloves and weilding 2 Tempests.

serpent's trench in the veldt? is that the area where you find gau?

That only leads to nikeah where you can get a ferry to narshe.

In order to get to the place you most desired, being the area where shadow leaves you,you would have to take the cave back to where south figaro is.

That is the same village where you see locke trying to free, anyways you don't enter the village and instead you go through the mountain and all the way back towards the returners hideout and throw yourself in the water and go instead of right you go left and it should take you to where you found shadow first and you will have to go through the forest untill you get to where you jump to get to the veld right beforehand.

I've done this many times and i agree that its a good idea to get the spells, especially water rondo wich you cannot get later in the game.
