Strago as Mog?!

I've been searching the net to see if I can find a fix for this problem, but so far all I have found is a post from someone else on another FF6 forum with the same problem, but received no reply. Seeing as how this forum seems to have relatively current activity I thought to try my luck here.

Here's my scenario:

I'm at the near end of the game (my first time playing), right before Kefka's Tower. I'm leveling up some characters, learning new spells, etc. (final preparations). Somehow during the course of changing members on the airship (I believe my problem is somehow linked to the party forming menu), when I play as Strago on the battle menu he appears as Mog. His name appears as Strago, his abilities are Strago's, so it just seems to be his appearance that is the problem. Seeing as how this occured, I tried resetting the game, but apparently it's already saved to this setting, so no fix there. Next I tried bringing Mog into the party to see if he appeared as Strago (thinking somehow they had swapped appearances), but on the contrary, now on the battlefied there appears to be 2 Mogs. Also to note, their appearances in the submenu are what they should be, only on the battlefield is the problem.

So my question is has this happened to anyone else here? If so, did you find a way to correct it, or can anyone point me in the right direction to where I need to look?

Edit: Upon a bit more searching I found the answer in an old FF3 forum. This is the effect of the Moogle Suit Strago was wearing and I had no idea of this effect. blush.gif

I'm guessing you equipped the Moogle Suit (intentionally or not), which turns the character's appearance to a Moogle (only for Strago or Relm). If you're playing the Advance version, the name might be different - just unequip his armour, see if it changes.

I've played FFVI four times over, and I hear something new about it every week on these forums. I would've just suggested that it's a glitch, but...wow. That's pretty cool, but I wish they'd turn into behemoths when they were wearing the behemoth suit.

LOL! I think kitty Stragus would be hilarious! He gets ticked off by someone calling him an old tabby and he blasts them off their butts with a lore!
But in all seriousness, the only way for Stragus to look like a Moogle is if he has the Moogle suit equipped like footbigmike suggested.
