Imagine my surprise when I arrived here this morning, from my cushiony chair at work. I deftly avoided all work-related emails and wandered in here to see what I'd missed last night, and what do I see? Well, the new forums have hit 5000 posts.
I don't have any benchmarks to tell you exactly how long it took the old forums to reach this level, but I can be pretty sure that it didn't happen in four and a half months the way it did here. Thanks a lot to all the forum regulars who like being here so much, and a special thanks to Spoony Bard, whose post in the Cowboy Bebop Movie thread hit the 5K mark this morning. -------------------- "To create something great, you need the means to make a lot of really bad crap." - Kevin Kelly Why aren't you shopping AmaCoN? |

And now 6000 in just another month, cheers to all the staff! I'd have to agree with you Narratorway, ten thousand posts in three and a half more months, probably less.

According to CoNHistory...
There was a newsgroup that opened along with CoN2. Â It was hosted by DejaNews which is no longer around. Â After that, newer and better forums opened in CoN3, but not much information about them was given in the feature. Â Along with CoN4 came much better software for the forums which were worth about $200, but R51 got them for free at his job. Â These forums opened as 2001 began. Â Now, we have the best forums yet, with different skins and better features. Â It opened around, IIRC, August 2002. Â And since then, we've already had over 8700 posts. http://www.cavesofnarshe.com/features/history.php -------------------- Hey, put the cellphone down for a while In the night there is something wild Can you hear it breathing? The CoN3 forums were a web-based bit that was remotely hosted. The message board had only one general forum, and everything was jammed into it. There were no registered users, everyone just came and posted when and how they felt like it. It was chaos, really. It's where Tiddles came from, though.
