Biography

Zalbaag is one of Ramza's half-brothers and the closer of the two in age to Ramza. He has a warmer relationship to his two younger half-siblings than older brother Dycedarg, seeming to understand better the different circumstances they face through their lack of purely noble blood. A talented knight in his own regard, as expected of House Beoulve, Zalbaag's career follows that of his older brother until he is lord commander of Gallionne's knights. He is loyal and respects the chain of command to a fault, which results in Tietra's death and the fracturing of his family.

Zalbaag refuses to believe that he is not following just orders until far later, when he discovers that Dycedarg has not only killed his lord Prince Larg, he also killed their own father Barbaneth. Dycedarg also kills Zalbaag when confronted about his crimes, as the Lucavi released from Dycedarg's Zodiac Stone takes over his body. Zalbaag is cruelly resurrected and made to fight his other brother in a crypt, with his misery permanently and kindly put to an end by Ramza.
