Biography

The queen of Ivalice at the outset of the game, this young royal married from her family, including Prince Larg, to King Omdolia, knowing that the king was of weak will and capable of being influenced. When she failed twice to raise a son past childhood, she and the king adopted Ovelia to ensure succession, after which point Orinas was surprisingly conceived, complicating the succession again.

Ruvelia, once having her new son, feels that she's made a mistake in adopting Ovelia as someone who does not share her blood, only her husband's. Thus, when said husband dies, she puts into motion the plan to kidnap the princess and have her murdered, to pave the way for her biological child to become king, and to ensure that she will remain in power over him until his coming of age. Through the timely intervention of Ramza's group and Delita's machinations, though, the princess is never put to death; with the plan unraveling, Delita assists in arresting the queen and imprisoning her, where she remains, apparently never to be heard from again.
