Biography

Through no fault of her own, Princess Ovelia is dragged through the middle of the entire War of the Lions. As the adopted daughter of the king and queen (and the king's younger sister), she is the presumptive heir to the throne until her baby brother is born. After this point, she is championed by the White Lion as the rightful heir, while her younger brother gets the backing of the Black Lion, and you can no doubt see where this is going. Throughout the course of the war, she is kidnapped, rescued, and shuttled from one potential safe house to another.

By war's end, and with the death or imprisonment of virtually all of the parties attempting to use or kill her for power, she's left with just one: Delita. She eventually marries him to consolidate and protect her rule, allowing Delita to claim himself a new legend for Ivalice as the commoner who became a war hero and eventually the queen's consort. Over time, Ovelia comes to understand that while her husband does care for her, he also used her to improve his own station; when the bitterness of that fact bubbles over, on her birthday, she stabs Delita with a knife given to her long ago by her friend and bodyguard Agrias. Delita, in turn, takes the knife and stabs her as well.

Personae Entries

Ovelia was adopted by the late King Ondoria III after he lost his second son, but is actually trueborn daughter to the former monarch Denamda IV and half-sister to Ondoria III. Soon after entering the Atkascha royal family, a third son, Prince Orinus, was born to the queen, and Ovelia was entrusted to Duke Larg.
