How do you go about the WoR? In what order do you pick people up? Which events do you go through first -> last?
This a question for those who played FF6 recently or play it all the friggin time. ![]() -------------------- |

After getting Celes, Sab, Ed, and Setz, I usually go after Shadow in the Cave of the Veldt. After that, it's whoever I feel like getting next. Usually, Gau and Mog follow, but sometimes I skip them and just go after Cyan.
I remember one time, I challenged myself by going after Locke in the Phoenix Cave right after I got the airship. Needless to say, it was a big challenge. But I did it. ![]() -------------------- "When I turn the page The corner bends into the perfect dog ear As if the words knew I'd need them again But at the time, I didn't see it." ~"This Ain't a Surfin' Movie" - Minus the Bear |

Hmmm...
Celes, Sabin, Edward, and Setzer of course. Then I usually get the easy ones like Gau and Mog for the Moogle Charm. And Shadow and Relm while I'm in the Vealt Then I get Cyan then Terra. Why... Because they're cool. Then I try to get Locke (if I can) so I can start working on Ultima and the Cursed Shield. Then I go for the Gem Box and While I'm at it get Strago Then other characters like Umbro and Gogo others when I get the time. I usually get: Celes, Sabin, Edgar, Setzer and the rest I want to get first, it depends on how I used the charachter in WoB.

After Celes, Sabin, Edgar, and Setzer, they point you towards Cyan, who mentions Gau, who is right near Shadow/Relm. After that they kind of leave it up to you. I tend to go for Shadow immediately after Setzer, then Terra, Gogo, Relm, Locke, Mog, Umaro, Cyan, Strago, Gau, doing all their various quests in the order I tend to be in the area. -------------------- Hip-Hop QOTW: "Yeah, where I'ma start it at, look I'ma part of that Downtown Philly where it's realer than a heart attack It wasn't really that ill until the start of crack Now it's a body caught every night on the Almanac" "Game Theory" The Roots |

You don't even have to get Sabin. One of the biggest challenges is only returning Celes, Edgar, and Setzer and going through Kefka's Tower with just those three. That doesn't mean you can get Locke to unlock the door to the weapon shop in Narshe so you can get Ragnarok -- You can't even get any of the people to join your party. I've heard Terra joins you for the final battle if you do this (since you only have three people to fight the whole "tower of monsters") but I can't confirm it myself. That's something I've always wanted to try, though I'm sure it's next to impossible unless you grab Celes and level her way up right away.

i followed the forced celes-sabin-edgar-setzer order, then i would usually get relm and then get gau because hes easy to get, strago next, shadow, then gogo because gogo rocks it hardcore...then locke because i like him, and i need him to open the doors in narshe and then i go for mog, and umaro (naturally), next... terra, and finally cyan because i dont like mount zozo so i keep that for last, although i particularly enjoy the town itself.

i would get cyan, gau and gogo cause they were easy to
get.. then id do whatever i felt like. Ive done the terra, edgar, and setzer thing too, it really sucks you cant get all the espers, (which means you can't get Life3 or Ultima) If you try to do this trick you should start teaching them magic in WoB, cause its pretty hard without magic, esspecially setzer, i have trouble fighting any boss in kefka's tower with him alone cause you have to split them into three groups which means theres three groups of one! ![]() What I did is have Celes kill most of the bosses by equipping her with the minerva... of course after getting celes, sabin, edgar, and setzer then everything goes into chaos. sometimes i'll get cyan next or gau, or terra. the only structured event that i have is whenever i get 8 characters i always go and get locke.

On my most recent game of FFVI I went this order:
After the obvious plots of getting Sabin, Edgar, and Setzer with Celes, I follow the clue to Cyan, which leads me to Doma castle for his dream, so I'm close to the Veldt so I pick up Gau. Â While I'm there, I fight my way through the cave to pick up Shadow. Â After the whole shpeal of getting Shadow I end up at the Colloseum, which is close to Narshe. Â I rescue mog, and then go straight for Umaro. Â Then I head to Jidoor to collect the elusive painter Relm, and use her to pick up Strago at the Fanatic's Tower. Â This is somewhat close to Mobliz, so I head over and pick Terra up. Â While I'm on this side of the map I head north to pick up good old Gogo. Â Then I take the combined effort to bring Locke back, which I always save for last. Â The last time I played this game, this series made the most chronological and geographical sense to me. |

First Sabin in Tzen, then Edgar in Figaro and Setzer at Kohlingen, of course.
I then head over to the Veldt to pick up Gau, finish the cave, then head back to Zozo to get Cyan. I pick up Shadow (assuming I saved him) at the Colloseum, then head back for Terra. I now have enough people for two parties, so I head over Pheonix Cave and get Locke, then take a ride through Narshe and pick up Mog. Since 'm so close, I also pick up Umaro. Then off to Triangle Island to finally get Gogo (I don't want to make the game TOO easy too early on), then Jidoor for Relm so she can wake up Strago. |

The order I get the other chracters apart from the ones involved in the plot depends on what chracters Im focusing on that time through the game

i take a pretty lax approach to it myself. after setzer, i just try and do the easiest ones possible which lets you naturally power up to go for the more difficult ones like shadow and locke...

Boy this is a thinker...
I usually get the big man...Cyan! Then probably Gau, Terra, Shadow, Relm, Gogo, Mog, umaro, and locke. I did leave out Strago...I don't know even why I bother... There's something about those old socerer that piss me off. Hmm well after I get the 4 necessary characters (Celes, Sabin, Edgar, Setzer), I always like to shake things up. The only thing that is consistent of my play in the WOR is that once I get 8 characters, I go after Locke.

Neil is very correct - you do not need to get anybody but Celes, Edgar, and Setzer! Otherwise, the order doesn't make any difference. Also, the endings change if you don't get certain people.

Once I got the airship, I went to Mobliz to get Terra back in my party (she's my favorite character). Then I went to get the Palidor esper on Solitary Island (this being quite possibly the easiest thing in the whole WoR). After that, I went to the Veldt Cave to get Shadow (and going to the Coliseum to actually get him), and Jidoor for Relm, not bothering with Gau as I don't like him. Then I stopped in Narshe for Mog and the Tritoch esper. Once I had Mog, I went to do the Phoenix Cave, one party with Terra/Edgar/Celes/Setzer, and the other consisting solely of Mog with the Moogle Charm. After getting Locke, I went back to Narshe to get the Ragnarok (I got the sword), the Cursed Shld, and complete the cave after Tritoch. I then went to Solitary Island to uncurse the shield (easily the most boring part of the game), and then finally went to get Cyan like I was 'supposed' to. Then came to Fanatics' Tower, and I then went to the Veldt to pick up Gau (fighting a SrBehemoth and a White Drgn).
By the way, are you supposed to be able to fight the Dragons on the Veldt? |

I used to get everyone but now all I basically do is get my favorite's (besides the necessary 3 Celes, Edgar, and Setzer). When I get them all I get them in this order-
Celes, Edgar, Setzer, Sabin, Terra, Shadow, Gau (only because he's right there), Relm, Cyan, Locke, Mog (I only get him because you can't Umaro without him), Umaro. I generally go after Gogo next (for the treasure), then Strago (because I want the gem box and he's right there). -------------------- "Son of a submariner" Â Â Â Â Â -Kefka |

Wow, what a question.
Id have to say this order: Celes: You have to Sabin: He helps out early on Edgar: You have to Setzer: You have to, and he is really cool Cyan: His music rules Gau: He is close to Shadow Shadow: He rules Terra: Pure magic power Mog: Moogle Charm Umaro: Close to Mog Locke: He is needed for doors in Narshe Relm: Starlet Esper Strago: Fanatics tower, I want the gem box! Gogo: Don't really use him / her / it, because he / she / it is not really cool, Even though Gogo can be potentially very powerful. That is the most commom order for me, sometimes I change it around to make it more fun. This is kinda off of the subject, but try to beat KatanaSoul with one character. Earlier on this is a ridiculous challenge. I have tried beating every sidequest with the minimum number of party members, and KatanaSoul is the first one I have lost to. |

random battles suck. I get mog as soon as i can (after Setzer) and after that I just raid treasure and pick up kids as suits me fine-- as in, if I'm going to nab a red jacket, i might as well go get Gogo, that sort of thing. Which is probably why I think the game is not nearly as fun in the WOR--You're done, really. You can go straight to Kefka and kill him, or you can do all the sidequests and get treasure, crap like that.
