It takes 5 seconds to dump the ROM's items and dialog and disprove this. But I figured I'd try it. It's not like it takes more than 5 minutes to check which addresses are incremented or decremented after each battle in the dragon forest.

Apart from the usual ones? Nothing turns up sounding like a counter for 400 battles, or anything else, apart from the cursed shield counter.

Sorry mate. This is a fake rumor.

I think the only way you can play Leo is with a Gameshark, which I THINK glitches at some points in the game? I don't know, I can't say I've ever tried it.

Meh Gameshark, Action reply, they're the same..

I've found a code for you:

C0F07E07 Leo and Kefka

http://www.neoseeker.com/Games/cheats/SNES...antasy_iii.html

They're pro action reply though, for the SNES so I doubt you'd be able to use it anyway, just wanted to prove it to myself if it existed to be honest haha. smile.gif

Of own experience (it is not a funny story, I can tell) I know that Leo is dead. DEAD. gone. not playable. I just wish I never had listened to that rumors...

thats from the FFVI rumours page

the rumour you're talking about is on there, titled "getting General Leo."

Not only would that rumor be impractical, it woiuld also be illogical.

Like many other martyrs (except the one in Chrono Trigger, for a very good reason), he needs to stay dead in order for the plot to make sense.

A shame too, since he was one of the coolest characters.

Well, actually through some bug manipulation and a lot of time, you can bring him back... until you switch parties again. Plus it involves playing through the WOB virtually twice. It's may be true, but you wouldn't want to do it unless you were that damn bored.

Of course, if you're a masochist, go right ahead:

http://www.mnrogar.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=3213#3213

Bug 39 on the first post of the first page covers how the FC/Airship bug works.

I only mentioned this now as now people are saying you can't get Leo, whereas before, no one said anything like that, just that the rumor in question was false.

Sorry, couldn't resist. I wonder who creates rumors like these? Why 400 dragons, that's not even a practical number, maybe if it was a believable one it'd be fine but 400? I feel bad for the saps who actually kept count and went for that 400 only to find nothing. Actually I dont feel bad. I spit while im laughing unintentionally at their face.

Agreed--usually they use 255 as the number for breaking curses/finding secrets/whatever.

Should this rumor have been true (like everyone else said already, it's not), 400 would have been a rather odd number choice.

Not necessarily true. It's easier to check for carry after incrementing a counter (which would only occure once you're at 255) but if the 65816 were unable to handle other comparaisons, well, we'd be in a rather tight spot.

It may be common to use powers of 2, but it's not always the case. wink.gif Regardless of how this is entirely fake, mind you.

Besides, the original tale was 6000, not 400. I'd reaally feel sorry for someone keeping count of 6000 dragons. smile.gif

How come everybody wants General Leo back, but nobody's ever had a theory of how to get Bannon to rejoin your party?

Oh yeah...health...

I'm still amazed how much there is to learn about this game.
I read through the part about Kutan, too. This gives me three moogles now (moggle suit Relm, Mog, Kutan). Now, where could I find a fourth? Perhaps I can just leave the fourth spot for a certain sasquatch.

How is Moogle Suit Strago not a suitable fourth member for your party?

Simply bet a Chocobo Suit at the Colloseum to get a second MS if that's the problem.

Simply put, I've been away from the game for too long to remember that I could get a second suit v_v
