I noticed when you pick what esper you are going to use when you get probaly all of them there is one missing in the bottom right, is this a glitch in my game or is there a missing esper on my file, BTW, I have the SNES 9x Emulator as well.

It's a blank slot. It's meant to be there.

Or maybe it's...Testper?
Forget I said that. DP'sdright: the bottom-right slot is always empty and there&739;s no Esper to fill it. I'm pretty certain it's needed for switching Espers, but don't quote me on that. -------------------- |

It would only be necessary if you used a cheat device or a hack to get both Odin and Raiden. Video game companies at the time hated these cheat devices (they made two versions of FFIIus and FFIIIus because of them), but it's a good thing they kept you from screwing yourself this way. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

True, but that means wasting valuable time getting your characters to learn Meteor off the Odin Esper (I think the rate is x1) before you get it changed over to Raiden. Errr Crusader didn't have Meteor did it?

Crusader teaches Meteor at x10, if I recall correctly.

there was an esper left of out the amrican verson cause it had something to do with japanes demons. the reason odin changes is so you can have that blank spot, it is also so you can get quick. there was suppost to be an extra thing to do at the esper gate when you open it if i recall right that you go inside and relase a sealed esper. then in the WOR you find it injured and it turns into a magicite wich was supposedly more powerful than crusader. but i'm not extacally sure.

You'd have a better chance of convincing people of that if there weren't individuals on this site who've edited the Japanese ROMs. I'm with Josh--if you can prove it, I'll consider it, but, otherwise, it sounds like you're either trying to plant a rumor, or ignorantly spreading one. And, as everyone else has said, you need the blank spot to deequip an Esper once you've got the rest of the list full. You should be sure, before putting something that outlandish out here for the masses to consume. ![]() I've heard it once said that the missing slot was incorporated to keep the game from crashing in case someone found a way to keep Odin and get Raiden, but that sounds rather silly when you think about it. Why would a prog put a failsafe in the game to protect cheaters? The most likely answer is what Djibriel said, about it being necessary for you to unequip espers and such. Part of the reason that doesn't make sense it because you need to do so very little to get it. In every FF with them, you needed to do something extra to get the most powerful Summon. In III through V, you need to fight Bahamut; in VI you need to kill 8 Dragons (for Crusader); you even do something extra in Tactics, where abilities are learned with JP. -------------------- "I had to write four novels before they let me write comic books." -Brad Meltzer |

The last slot is actually for the Crazy Plunger which you find in Locke's house. What many people don't know, is that the Crazy Plunger is a weapon (But you must use the Merit Award). You must kill 9999 enemies with the Crazy Plunger, and you can fight the Czar Dragon. You must then have Shadow throw the Crazy Plunger at Czar, and it turns him into Testper. THAT is what fills the last slot.

Ohhh!! That is how you get the Testper. I just sold the plunger, since I didn't find a use for it.

i'm only saying what i heard it might be possible that it is just a rumor i dont know i am passing but if you need a space to deequip an esper than why make odin turn into radin doing so cause there to be a blank space pluse you have like two other blank spaces if i remmber right but could be wrong been a long time since i dug out my snes. anyways i dont want you all to think less of me because of this but i thought it could be true so i wanted to share it sorry if i passed on false info.

No worries, LAE. I think m{st of t,e folks in here can spoe something false when it comes to FFVI quicker than most folks could type it. If I ever want to post something that even *might* be off a bit, I research the hell out of it on Google, Gamefaqs, anywhere I can find anything on it.
