Call me what you will, hardcore gamers. Sometimes I dupe. I've beaten the game without falling back on duping, so please, no flames from the self righteous. I just have a quick question:

Is there a way to dupe a sword and only buy the sword? For example, I dupe Excalibur with Two Swords on Ramza, with Excalibur in the left hand, a Crystal Shield in the right. I select Best Fit and get the extra Excalibur in the right hand, and a Scorpion Tail or some crap in the left. Then I have to pay the 10 gil for the Excalibur, plus the some odd thousand gil for the weapon I don't need. Who knows a way around this, if there is one?

I also use the JP scroll glitch on occasion. Ha Ha!!

The way around your problem is to simply use the Quit Fitting function on the Scorpion Tail.
Or to use the all-free Item Duping trick.......

All-Free? I've never heard of that one. Does it involve a GameShark?

I'm on a school computer, so I can't see it, but I think I've heard of the all-free dupe before. Doesn't it have something to do with Shields like the other one?

I can't think of anything to say, really, except... I think it's nice... Ha ha ha!

It does, indeed! Since JVT was nice enough to share it, I've read and re-read it several times through. It is kick-ass, if you decide to go the cheating route with one of your saved files.

If you go to the good shop with the good support abilities and all, you can freely dupe any weapon/shield in the game up to 255 items, breaking the 99 limit max.
well my friend tried it after i told him the trick, that's what he said. The trick is pretty simple wich is the following:

1.Put the weapon shield you want to duplicate in the second hand, in this case: Excalibur.

Nothing
Excalibur
Triangle Hat
Rubber costume
Feather boots

2. Go to fitting room

3. Try on a weapon/shield on the first hand wich will make the weapon/shield in you second hand dissapear ( example you cannt equip one gun in each hands)
You MUST NOT have the support ability: Two Swords Equipped for some weapons

Mytril Knife
Nothing (Excalibur Dissapeared)
Triagle Hat
Rubber constume
Freather boost

4. Now try best fit, Your equipment will go back to normal because Excalibur is much more powerful than anything your charater can equip at that shop.

Nothing (Mythril Knife gone)
Excalibur
Triangle Hat
Rubber costume
Feather boots

5. Go look at your inventory

6. Cool! I gained a new Excalibur just like that!

Please Note: You cannot duplicate a certain weapon/shield more than once per character each time you enter the fitting room

To dupe sheilds, just use a weapon taht can't be equipped with a sheild, Like bows (Archer with Equip Shield ability)
