EDIT: I don't want too many images on one page so click on the link to see the image.
http://www.datazap.net/sites/i90east400/mysterytreasure.JPG Is it just me or does it seem impossible to get this treasure? Possible spoilers: highlight to view You know, it's the one where after Kefka rearranges the statues you're rushing over to the airship. Right before you get to the stairs leading up to this treasure, the land breaks apart making it inaccessible. Is this some kind of sick joke meant to tease the masses? ![]() This post has been edited by i90east on 22nd February 2004 22:52 -------------------- FFXI (Siren server) Tauu the Windurstian Tarutaru! IIRC, the treasure is an Elixir. And it isn't impossible to get, you simply have to go around the cracks properly so the land mass that leads to it doesn't fall.

Wow excellent, I did it! You just have to walk around to the other side of the piece of land. Ok then, and yes it is an Elixir. Hmmm... ok question #2: Is this star Kefka?
Possible spoilers: highlight to view You know, it's the one where after you hop onto the airship someone in your group says "Can't you diffuse the statues!?". Then it shows the statues with a star flying from them which then goes down to this island shown above. I'm thinking it probably is Kefka, but I'm just trying to introduce things that most people probably don't think too much about. It all happens so fast which is why I'm putting time on pause here so we can contemplate what's going on. EDIT: Hey I just thought of something. Maybe this is Triangle Island and the statues gave birth to Gogo. ![]() ![]() This post has been edited by i90east on 22nd February 2004 06:29 -------------------- FFXI (Siren server) Tauu the Windurstian Tarutaru! Its a save point. Doesnt it seem obvious?
Na, I always considered it being magic from the 3 statues, going to destroy parts of the world. -------------------- Yeah, I barely post. |

I wish that thee Celes Women Hadnt Slept For A froggin Year! ( Note Froggin not a typo) How about: I like to think, i90...well, IT could be Kefka, I'm thinking. Yes, there is a hole. How does Kefka get off the continent? Does he? I wish that the Celes woman hadn't slept for a froggin year! Well, anyways, I agree with what Max said--that it's magic from the imbalance of the statues, flying off to destroy some random spot on the world. I actually don't think Kefka gets off the continent; Possible spoilers: highlight to view he uses the power of the statues to drive the continent to where vector used to be and then to turn it into his own tower, from which he could fry whatever with his "Light of Judgement". -------------------- Check the "What games are you playing at the moment?" thread for updates on what I've been playing. Quote (GMH) I actually don't think Kefka gets off the continent Look at this. Kefka ain't there, only this star which proceeds down to the middle of the island below. One thing to keep in mind is that right before I took this screenshot another star flew from the statues. The game happens to focus on this one which hesitates before flying off. -------------------- FFXI (Siren server) Tauu the Windurstian Tarutaru! White Mage & Paladin |

I really don't think it's Kefka. If I remember correctly, don't you actually see that one hit the ground and explode? If that's the case, then it can't be Kefka; he'd die.
I think he's already found his way out by then, anyway. An interesting test would be to sit and wait at the first point you land at when you're going to escape and let time drain away. If you can see Kefka during the time drain, then it makes it an even better test, since his sprite would strangely disappear at the end... I don't know... I just don't think it's Kefka. ![]() -------------------- --sbq92 <>< |

I've always just assumed it was the last bit of statue magic going to further destroy the world, but I must say, I like i90's triangle isle/gogo theory. Seems plausible enough.
