I'm thinking about the final fantasy games, and I think that the FF8 concept could be used in the TV series. Call it Final Fantasy: SeeD Missions, and have it take place after FF8 and either get new SeeDs or use the same ones from the game.
Possible spoilers: highlight to view
the pilot episode, if the FF8 characters were used, would involve getting Squall back

If they go with the latter, I'm all for seeing Ashton Kutcher as Squall and WWE's Stacy Keibler as Quistis, maybe even take Jason David Frank (Formerly Tommy of the Power Rangers) off welfare long enough to play Zell, but who'd make a good Rinoa?

While your tv show may or may not be a good idea, the idea of placing Ashton Kutcher in a serious roll certainly is. If you want a good Squall, go for Leanord Shelby (Memento), or if he's too old, Rory Cochrane (Lucas from Empire Records).

Jason David Frank is fine for Zell, and it wouldn't be too hard to recruit him. If you needed more star power, you could buff up Seth Green and give him a shot.

Rinoa...hmmm...maybe Kiera Knightly (Pirates of the Carribean) or Lacey Shabert (1st voice of Meg Griffen on Family Guy)?

It has potential, I suppose. More so than the game did, anyway.

the FF8-Meister is HURR! Hmmm...I'd like to see FF8 used more in any way. TV show would be nice. Ashton Kutcher as Squall...? Are you frikkin insane? NO! Too comical an actor for a serious part like Squall. A wrestler as Quistis??? Were you beaten with a stupid stick? (JK...to an extent) I can't help you with the actors, but what if it was done 3D-like? That would be a nice-looking TV show.

Possible spoilers: highlight to view

Every time I see Quistis, the first person I think about is Stacy Keibler, and I'm sure many WWE and FF fans would agree.

Ashton has a dramatic movie coming out soon, and he's pretty damn good.

OK, whew, she's hot. She would be an excellent decision for Quistis. I guess I stereotyped wrestlers. LoL. I know about The Butterfly Effect...but why would he do a movie with swords and magic...What about that guy that played the main character in Dungeons and Dragons? He would be a good choice.

You were probably picturing one of those 200+ lb amazon women like Chyna or Nicole Bass...I guess Wrestling still has a ways to go...

Squall: My first thought was Ashton Kutcher, but that may be a bad idea as he's typecast as a comedic actor, plus FF:SM would be cancelled as soon as it's popular. I've seen Justin Whailin mainly as Jimmy Olsen on Lois and Clark, and I can't see him playing a role like this either, so this is still very open.

Rinoa: Jennifer Garner out of all the lead females in the FF PSX series, I cared for her the least. She seemed way too pushy most of the time, and in a fight, Tifa would wear Rinoa's teeth as a necklace. I think that Jennifer can play that pushy role, even though her characters usually own.

Selphie: This one is probably hardest to cast. Unlike the others who can easily be americanized, she's the steriotypical little Japanese school girl, and I don't know of too many western actresses of Japanese decent who could make a convincing school girl, or too many Japanese actresses fluent in English.

Zell: Jason David Frank I wanted a guy with Martial Arts background, so I went and thought back to the days when I was younger and I'd watched Power Rangers, and I knew that the guy who played Tommy was a legitimate martial artist and one of the better actors on the show. He'd obviously have to dye his hair blonde though.

Quistis: Stacy Keibler This was the easiest cast in my opinion. When I first saw her in FF8, I immediately thought she looked like WCW's Miss Hancock (Now known as Stacy Keibler in the WWE)

Irvine: I always invisioned him with a Cajin accent similer to Gambit from X-Men.

So I still have no idea for Irvine, Selphie, or Squall. The others are my current ideal pics, though the only one I'd really push for is Stacy Keibler as Quistis.

I am thinking more of a Saved By the Bell kind of show for FF8. Zach would be played by Irvine, Seifer can be A.C. Slater, Screech would be played by Zell and the nerd they beat up everyday can be Squall. As for the girls, Rinoa would be Kelly, Quistis can be Jessie/Tori (for those of you who remeber those few, yet awful episodes where there was Tori instead of Jessie) and Selphie can be Lisa. Mr. Belding of course would be played by Cid. The end.

And here I thought Dawson's Creek was already based on FF8. Go figure.
