I have heard many things about this game, an almost all of them have been very good. It is definitly on my list of games to buy.

Diseaga is awsome, amazing and spectacular. But FFT has Nostalgia, and that can't be beat by anything.

Jevus I love Digaea! It was actallu based off of Manga, or so I heard well anyways My characters are awsome my Larharl is lvl 47 and on Chapter 5! and basicly everyone else on my teams pretty much blows. I've only gotten one ending out of like 1,000 (I know I'm exagerating) but still Larharls last wep is awsome! even godlike!

uh...disgaea > fft? please. it's a good game, don't get me wrong -- in fact, prolly the best rpg of 2003 -- but it's nowhere near as good at fft. the system is worse, the story is worse, the characters are worse -- the only thing better is the graphics, and the humour. but fft wasn't supposed to be funny anyway.

Well I guess you'd have to get the Manga before playing to get a better view of the game but in almost everyones opinion Disgaea owns FFT--nuff said -------------------- "If Satan is the prince of darkness, then that would make me the KING!" |

It's a really cool Play Station 2 rpg game! So many characters and I just love it!

Disgaea better than Final Fantasy Tactics, BLASPEMY!!! FFT is one of the greatest games, plot wise, that is around. Disgaea was a good game, but it isn't even on the same level as FFT. Disgaea is a funny little game, FFT is a complete serious game plot wise.
Also, I like the job system better in FFT than Disgaea. I hate it when I have to change my characters to lvl 1 again just to change jobs. -------------------- I will be the mustard of your doom! |

Yeah that was very annoying! I hated having them go back to Lv 1!

Blasphemy? FFT is an absolute gem when it comes to strategic rpgs, but it can also be improved upon a lot. I'm sure we can all think of some things we'd like to see.
--- Anyway, I bought Disgaea on Ebay over Easter weekend, so I'm hoping that it gets here one of these days so I can play it. Like a lot of you, I've heard only good things about it and I'm anticipating playing it. If it's on par with FFT (which I wouldn't doubt if it is), I'll pump in more hours than I did on FFT, which is a hard figure to match considering I have twenty some levels and I've replayed fortysome times. since you, like me, seem to really enjoy the formulaic approach that tactics employs in its mechanics, you shouldn't like disgaea *near* as much (like me

Yeah, I love strategy rpgs. I'm hoping Disgaea will have a sufficient amount of fun and strategy in it, even if it's not a perfect replica of FFT. After all, it's a different game so it should differ in some ways.
It's been getting a good buzz lately, so I guess I'll try it out before I give more false praise (for now, anyway). -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Final Fantasy Tactics shouldn't even be on par with Disgaea. The game is good, but FFT holds more of a serous story line to it. I will never forget the time I played FFT for the first time.
The big difference between the games are that Disgaea is a fun little game with a lot of humor. FFT is a complete serious game about the war going on in Ivalice and the threat of the Zodiac stones being used to change the tide of the war and Ivalice forever. I can't even count the number of times I was in suspense due to the story line. Just had to get my full complete opinion across. However, Disgaea will always hold as the most humorous rpg in my book. Great game, I just got really pissed off when my characters had to go to lvl 1. Thats the reason I actually stopped playing it. Hehe, it'd be a lot better if I could find a cheat that would keep my characters at the same lvl when they switched jobs. -------------------- I will be the mustard of your doom! |

Yes, the seriousness of FFT is what captivated me too. The first time through I was holding my breath striving to see the next storyline cutscene, to watch the next event unfold and change the fate of the war.
I've never played a game that hit such austere notes like FFT has. It makes me, for one, in a pensive mood where I contemplate the whole storyline and everyone's ulterior motives and such. The somber mood is firm without and that's why it's my favorite to this day, I suppose. You learn something everytime you play it and I love it for that. -------------------- It's gonna be a glorious day I feel my luck can change |

Topic, Disgaea, please. I hope this isn't a case of our "forums have way too many rules", as some people have said in passing elsewhere.
