Now that the series is back alive, there's a new thread too! After the somewhat disappointing movies (excellent in general but not on par with the original series), the new episode content is now in its third week, with the fourth episode airing tonight.

Have you been watching? What do you think of the new eps so far? For my money, they've been pretty excellent, with the EyePhone ep last week one that had me absolutely rolling. Overall, probably not as brilliant as the best of the original episodes, but pretty fantastic overall.

If you used to be a fan, you should be checking these episodes out on TV - Comedy Central, 10pm ET on Thursdays. Show them that they did the right thing by bringing the show back.

And if you know anyone who has a Robot Devil to complete my set of Kidrobot Futurama figures, he's missing from the below...

I've been watching every Futurama episode intently, and bought all four movies.

My favorite season has still been the last season of their previous run, with the great episodes like "Jurassic Bark", "The Why of Fry", "The Sting" and "The Devil's Hands are Idle Playthings" (and also "The Luck of the Fryrish"), since these were actually pretty deep episodes (and come on, who didn't well up just a little when watching Jurassic Bark?) I remember when they first aired they kind of caught me off guard and made me realize how much I really loved the show.

Of the Straight-to-DVD movies, I really liked Bender's Big Score a lot. It might've been a bit more poignant to make that the final DVD release though in my honest opinion, since that was the most touching of them. Beast with a Billion Backs had some great moments, I didn't like Bender's Game much at all, and The Wild Green Yonder was again decent but could've been better because the ending felt kinda cheap with the whole Fry and Leela thing.

Although for my money, Futurama will probably NEVER do it better than when they made the episode "Amazon Women in the Mood". Most hilarious episode they've ever done. If they ever come even close to that again, I will be very happy!

Anyways, back to the topic. The very first new episode they aired almost felt like the episode "The Sting", where it's that kind of reversal thing they like to do with the characters

Possible spoilers: highlight to view
Like how most of the episode revolved around Robot Leela but then it turns out that Fry was a robot too

And I laughed uncontrollably during the second new episode that night with Leela and Zapp Brannigan riding around in the invisible ship. That was pure classic Zapp.

The EyePhone episode was pure comedy gold, too. It looks like tonight's going to be another robot-centered theme, which I always enjoy. I just hope they've got a Zoidberg-featured episode coming up. I think so far all the new episodes will be kind of like the older episodes, where they also grow on you more when you go back and watch them (and I mean when you see them later on down the road, not the whole week after they first come out).

I saw those figurines on your facebook and that piqued my interest. Where did you get those from (Not really sure what Kidrobot is, I guess I'll have to google search it)? Those are awesome as hell. And is that Scruffy in the back? Hahahahaha!!!

Doing my part to keep this show on the air! And I rarely buy DVD's but bought all four of theirs, I like to think I did my part smile.gif. Can't wait to tune in tonight!

Gotta love the Futurama. Been watching the new episodes. Loved episode 1 and 3 from the new season. 2 was just okay IMO, but I was rolling out of my chair watching episode 1.

Kidrobot is a company that specializes in designer toys. They do a lot of figurines like these, most notably for The Simpsons (of which there are dozens), and for their design-it-yourself paintable figures. Most of them come in blind boxes, which means you don't know which one you're getting when you buy the box, and each character comes with a particular set of odds for which you get. See http://theinfosphere.org/Kidrobot_Futurama_Mini_Figures for more info. smile.gif

I have all the seasons on DVD as well as all four movies. I should set up an AmaCoN alert for when this season is available for preorder too...

I haven't seen any episodes yet, since I've been real busy these past few weeks. I'm glad it's good though; I'll have to check it out.

The first 2 minutes of the first episode had me convinced they were back full throttle, and the rest of the episode was surprisingly intelligent, very intuned with where the series has been going. The second was fairly brilliant as well. I wasn't in love with the third one honestly, but it was good, and its nice to see them keeping up with the topical satire.
The newest episode just aired a little while ago, and had some really great short gags that Futurama is famous legendary for. Again, it followed a topical issue bordering on anvilicious, but unlike the similar rantings of recent Simpsons and Family Guy, it never once detracted from the comedy and actually managed to make the humor and plot more of a focus that the issues (in this case a sci-fi stand in for gay marriage). Bravo, best show in TV, bravo.

Are they showing the episodes on their website in addition to the channel? I don't have cable/dish currently.
